Maharashtra bans ‘Muhammad, The Messenger of God’
Maharashtra State Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has put a quick ban on the controversial film ‘Muhammad the Messenger of God’ released online by Don Cinema and directed by renowned director Majid Majidi. And has ordered the closure of Don Cinema’s portal. It is to be known that the film was to be released on 21 July. From the day the news of the release of the film came, the Raza Academy started opposing it. Some people of the academy had also submitted a memorandum to Don Cinema owner Mahmood Ali, while Mahmood Ali told him that the copyright of the film is with us but the film is being shown on many social media platforms, first you stop them then I will not release it too.
When asked about the ban imposed by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Mahmood Ali said that the commissioner has called him to his office, from where he will ask for an appointment with the Hon’ble Home Minister. He further said that I do not understand that when many films have been made on this subject even before this and have been seen and appreciated all over the world, then why my film is so crazy. While I also told the academy that once you see the film, after that if there is any objection, then I will not release the film.
Mr. Mahmood Ali said that we are residents of a democratic country and I have full faith in the law of the country and will do justice to me.
