Abhang Tukaram

Music Launch of the Film ‘Abhang Tukaram’ Celebrated with Divine Fervour!

Tujha pahuni sohala, majha rangla abhang;
Gela shinavata saara, megh zale Pandurang;
Naam Tukobache gheta, dole pataka daulat. These devotional verses came alive as the music launch of the much-awaited film ‘Abhang Tukaram’ was celebrated with grandeur, enthusiasm, and deep devotion in the presence of media representatives and invited guests. The event reflected the spirit of bhakti through traditional chants, cymbals, and the rhythmic beats of taal-mrudung. A grand dindi procession chanting “Dnyanoba Mauli Tukaram,” devotional performances by the film’s artists, melodious rendition of abhangas by singers, and a symbolic presentation of the spiritual unity between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Saint Tukaram Maharaj created a divine atmosphere — a moment of bliss for everyone present.

The music of the film was officially launched by Maharashtra’s Minister for Cultural Affairs, Shri Ashish Shelar. The minister also felicitated the film’s team — artists and technicians — for their contribution. While addressing the gathering, Shri Shelar said, “Our culture’s foundation and the essence of Maharashtra’s soil lie in the thoughts of our saints. Director #DigpalLanjekar and his team deserve praise for beautifully conveying these saintly teachings through cinema. It’s a divine coincidence that this film releases during the 750th birth anniversary year of Saint Dnyaneshwar. There’s hardly anyone in the world unaware of Saint Tukaram Maharaj’s greatness. When words are touched by divine faith, they transform into ‘vaani’. The abhangas penned and sung by Saint Tukaram became vibrations of ‘Naadbrahma,’ evoking a sense of ‘Brahmanand’ (spiritual bliss) in the listener. This film will hold a special place for Maharashtra, the world, and everyone who believes in the saint tradition. May this film inspire spiritual awakening among all citizens. When willpower and divine energy unite, the cymbals of bliss will resound.” He concluded by offering prayers at Lord Vitthal’s feet for the success of the film.

Sharing his joy at being part of a meaningful project, Panorama Studios Chairman Kumar Mangat Pathak said, “We felt it was our responsibility to bring this film to the audience. Through it, we aim to offer society a new perspective, and we are confident that viewers will respond positively.” Panorama Studios, a reputed production house, presents the film, which is produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, Ajay Ashok Purkar, and Digpal Lanjekar, with co-producers Murlidhar Chatwani and Ravindra Auti.

The life and teachings of Saint Tukaram Maharaj — one of Maharashtra’s greatest saints who distilled the essence of spirituality into simple abhangas for mankind — continue to illuminate generations. Director Digpal Lanjekar brings this divine legacy to the screen through ‘Abhang Tukaram’, releasing on 7th November.
