Lovers of ballet and western classical music will be regaled with the stage production of Tchaikovsky’s famous ballet Swan Lake. Hitting the metro cities of India beginning 13th March with Mumbai, the ballet will give dance lovers a chance to partake in a unique version of the World Street Dance Carnival.

The production in Delhi last year which featured 41 artists of the Royal Russian Ballet, left audiences spellbound, as the young troupe brought alive the spectrum of emotions that Tchaikovsky’s musical score is famous for. The upcoming productions of the ballet will be choreographed by Vladmir Troschenko and directed by Anatoly Kazatsky.

Royal Russian Ballet theatre was founded in 2008 in Ukraine. It includes 55 of the best ballet dancers from Russia, Ukraine and Europe, all graduates from the famous ballet schools of Russia. The repertoire of the theatre includes masterpieces like Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, Don-Quixote and others. Swan Lake is the most beloved and quintessential classical ballet, a timeless story of good versus evil. From the first yearning bars of Tchaikovsky’s score, it beckons you to another world, with its bewitched swan queen, doomed prince, glittering villainess and drifts of white tutus.

Beautifully crafted and sensually romantic, it’s simply stunning. The twinned role of the radiant white swan and the duplicitous black swan tests the full range of a ballerina’s powers. Adored by audiences for over a hundred years, Swan Lake is the most famous ballet in the world. A truly international troupe of dancers will create mesmerising elegant swans.Mark your date: Mumbai -13th March – 25th March 2018 – NCPADelhi – 30th March – 1st April 2018Ahmedabad – 6th April – 8th April 2018Kolkatta -13th April – 15th April 2018
