Powerful ‘Gondhal’ Act by Gashmeer Mahajani in ‘Saalbardi’!

The traditional Gondhal performers, who travel from village to village invoking Goddess Jagdamba, are an integral part of Maharashtra’s rich folk culture. Their devotion and vibrant energy create a spiritual, electrifying atmosphere for devotees. In the upcoming Marathi film Saalbardi, releasing on April 17, actor Gashmeer Mahajani will be seen portraying a powerful Gondhali character.In this special Gondhal sequence, Gashmeer delivers an intense performance, with traditional costume, highly expressive body language, and energetic dance moves.

The recently released song based on this act has already received an enthusiastic response from audiences. Set to the pounding, rhythmic beats of the sambal, the sequence builds a mysterious and gripping mood, adding depth and intrigue to the film’s narrative.The song is written by Mukund Bhalerao, composed by Padmanabh Gaikwad, and powerfully sung by Ajay Gogavale. Choreographer Ashish Patil brings the traditional art form alive on screen with his distinctive style.The film also raises a compelling question: has this Gondhali arrived to unearth a deadly secret buried beneath the village’s eerie silence?

Speaking about his role, Gashmeer Mahajani shared that Gondhal is not just a ritual, but a powerful expression of devotion. He added that his character is pivotal to the story, and that the sheer energy of the performance gave him goosebumps while shooting—something he believes the audience will feel as well.Saalbardi is a suspense thriller set in a remote Maharashtrian village, where strange and unsettling events unfold. Produced under the Nebula Films banner by Anil Devde Patil, Dr. Gajanan Jadhav, and Ram Jadhav, the film is directed by Ramesh Sahebrao Choudhary.

The film also stars Pooja Sawant, Shashank Shende, Omkar Bhojne, Bharat Ganeshpure, Anshuman Vichare, Rohit Kokate, Kamalakar Satpute, Chittaranjan Giri, Anil Nagarkar, Madhav Abhyankar, Pravin Dalimbkar, Abhay Gite, Rajendra Satardekar, and Komal Choudhary in key roles.
