‘Pratha’, Specialising in Handloom Sarees, Now Opens a New Grand Showroom in Thane!

After capturing the hearts of women in Pune, renowned bridal hair and makeup expert Kavita Koparkar’s popular handloom saree brand Pratha has now expanded to Thane with a grand new showroom on Ram Maruti Road. The elegant store was recently inaugurated at a glittering event attended by several well-known Marathi film and television celebrities.

Founded in 2016 with just 32 silk sarees, Pratha has grown into a celebrated brand offering thousands of sarees today. With over 4,500 brides styled under her expert hands in the bridal industry, Kavita’s deep love for sarees, her artistic sense of colour, and admiration for traditional craftsmanship led to the birth of Pratha.

Following the success of the elegant 2,500 sq. ft. flagship store on Bhandarkar Road, Pune, Pratha’s new two-storey, 3,000 sq. ft. Thane outlet now welcomes saree lovers. The store showcases sarees from over 40 weaving clusters across India, each handpicked personally by Kavita from traditional weavers. Over the years, Pratha sarees have been worn by celebrated personalities like Renuka Shahane, Mrinal Kulkarni, Anuradha Paudwal, Amruta Khanvilkar, Sai Tamhankar, Spruha Joshi, Parna Pethe, Shivani Sonar, Shivani Rangole, and Swanandi Tikekar.

Speaking about the brand’s journey, Kavita Koparkar said, “Pratha is not just a saree brand—it is a celebration of Indian heritage and feminine grace. With our Thane expansion, our goal is to take the grandeur of Indian handloom sarees beyond Maharashtra, across India, and to the global stage.”

The brand currently employs over 50 women, and both stores are known for their calm, luxurious ambience.
