Subuhii Joshii says, “The only time I use filters is when I’ve to make some video as I’m too lazy to put on makeup and do my hair”. It is often difficult to accept the changes that our body and skin go through as we age. Probably, it affects more when one is a public figure, hence that leads to the use of filters social media and even otherwise. Actor, singer and DJ, Subuhii Joshii opines the increasing use of filters by most, even by the youth, has made it difficult for us to accept our realities and flaws.

“Honestly, the only time I use filters is when I have to make some video as I’m too lazy to put on makeup and do my hair. For example, for a brand collaboration, I had to record a video. Every time you don’t feel like getting up and doing makeup, that is the time I use the filter and that saves the day for me,” she shares.

On whether she ever thought of completely giving up on it, Subuhii adds, “If we talk about giving up filters, I don’t think there’s any need to give up because whatever you do, people are always going to judge anyway. They will comment on dark circles if we don’t wear makeup, and tell us of overdoing it after we do it. People will eventually judge you for using filters and for not using filters and for everything else in life.. It is up to us how we take it. Filters are always going to be there. But do not over use it. Frankly, I know some people who use filters too much, I tease them that if they got lost and we have to find them then nobody would recognise them (laughs). So I don’t think there’s any need to give up. If you feel great in your skin, that’s wonderful. And if you do not feel great in your skin then put a filter. It’s okay. It’s a personal choice.”
