‘Taath Kana’, based on the life journey of Dr. Premanand Ramani, to release on November 28!
The identity of any successful doctor is not defined merely by their skill but by the stories and struggles of their patients. When a patient’s life hangs in the balance due to illness, the doctor treating them is also put to the test each time. Only when they emerge successful can they face the world with a “Taath Kana”—An Upright Spine.
Taath Kana tells the story of one such passionate doctor dedicated to research and service. The film, based on the life journey of Dr. Premanand Ramani, will release in theatres on November 28. Produced by Vijay Mudshingikar of Pragya Creations and Karan Rawat of Spring Summer Films, the film is written by Shrikant Bojewar and directed by #GirishMohite.This is a true story that traces the extraordinary life of internationally acclaimed neurosurgeon Dr. P. S. Ramani, who, even at the age of 86, still steps into the operation theatre every day. Despite facing severe financial hardships, he was determined to become a doctor.
During his higher studies abroad, he faced a major allegation, which he overcame with integrity. After clearing his name, he left a prestigious job overseas and returned to serve his homeland. Battling jealousy, mistrust, and hostility, he helped countless people stand tall again—literally and figuratively. But one day, his research came under intense scrutiny, and all fingers pointed at him. At the same time, a call from “Prema” forced him to accept a new and deeply personal challenge. While healing the spines of others, he also had to hold together the spine of his own research, his reputation, and his wife’s turmoil. Ultimately, he stepped into the operating theatre once again—what followed next is a gripping story of struggle, determination, and love titled Taath Kana.
The film stars Umesh Kamat, Deepti Devi, Sayali Sanjeev, Suyog Gorhe, Ajit Bhure, Shailesh Datar, Anupama Takmoge, Ravi Gosai, and Sanjeev Jotangia. The cinematography is by Krishnakumar Soren, editing by Nilesh Gawand, and art direction by #MaheshKudalkar. The music is composed by Avinash–Vishwajeet. Prashant Pawar serves as the executive producer, and Jitendra Bhosale is the production controller.
