A Stroke of Destiny: Landing the Role.
“Working behind the scenes connects you with countless people in the industry,” Anila muses. It was through one such connection that Shraddha Sohan Casting Company approached her for Let’s Meet. “Since I already play a TV actress in real life, slipping into this character felt effortless. My on-screen persona, too, is a television star, albeit with an intriguing twist—she’s entangled in an affair with the hero, and from there, the drama unfolds.”

The Challenge of Playing ‘Herself’.
Portraying a role that mirrors reality can sometimes be more demanding than embodying a fictional persona. “Films are more nuanced than television, where emotions are heightened and expressions are grander,” Anila explains. “But Ricky Sir gave me the liberty to explore my character fully, even encouraging me to infuse the dramatic flair reminiscent of Ekta Kapoor’s serials. The exaggerated makeup, the larger-than-life personality—it all came together beautifully. Adapting to cinema’s subtlety was an adjustment, but not an impossible one.”

Sisterhood on Set—or Lack Thereof.
Despite being part of a cast brimming with female energy, Anila reveals an interesting fact: “Not a single scene in the movie was shot together, so we never really crossed paths on set! Ironically, meeting everyone now, the camaraderie feels so real. It’s fascinating how energy aligns even without shared screen space.”

From the Backstage to the Spotlight: A Fated Journey.
Did she always dream of becoming an actress? Surprisingly, no. “Acting wasn’t even on my radar,” Anila confesses. “During my theatre days, I had firmly decided I wouldn’t pursue it. Watching actors face rejection after rejection as a creative professional only reinforced my belief that it wasn’t for me. But the universe had other plans. The pandemic changed everything, bringing me consecutive acting opportunities. Once you step in front of the camera, it becomes an addiction you can’t shake off. Even if someone offered me a stylist’s job today, I’d still choose being in front of the camera over working behind the scenes.”

A Dream Woven in Celluloid.
Making the transition from television to Bollywood is no small feat, and for Anila, it still feels surreal. “I feel incredibly blessed. Television gives you recognition, but seeing yourself on the big screen is an actor’s ultimate dream. That dream is now my reality, and it’s an indescribable feeling.”

A Stepping Stone, Not the Destination.
While Let’s Meet marks her foray into Bollywood, Anila views it as the first of many milestones. “This is definitely my dream debut, but it’s just the beginning. Every journey starts with small yet significant steps, and this film will always be special to me. That said, I’m eager to embrace bigger challenges ahead.”

Balancing Act: Television vs. Bollywood.
Does this mean she’s bidding adieu to television? “Not at all!” Anila exclaims. “I will continue to do television alongside films. Both mediums have their charm, and I see no reason to choose one over the other.”

From calling the shots behind the camera to owning her presence on screen, Anila Kharbanda’s journey is a testament to the unpredictable beauty of fate. And as she embarks on this new chapter, one thing is certain—her story is just getting started.

However, looks like the audience is in for some high-end drama with the entry of popular actress Aalisha Panwar. Aalisha is playing the role of Kaya, who is Ranbir’s boss’s daughter and eventually will be seen creating loads of chaos in Ranbir’s world. Apart from her, another famous actor who is a new addition to the show is Kaushal Kapoor, he is playing the role of Ashok Tandon, who is Prachi’s boss and treats her like his own daughter.

Talking about joining the cast, Aalisha Panwar mentioned, “I am really excited about collaborating with Zee TV once again and after playing an antagonist in Teri Meri Ekk Jindri, I have been offered several grey characters, however, I am glad that I signed up for Kaya Malhotra’s role since she has her own charm, different from other characters that I’ve been offered. Kaya is a beautiful, rich spoiled brat, who can go to any extent to get what she wants. She is also very unpredictable and had several layers and shades, which will be revealed slowly throughout the course of the show. I am really excited about the role and the production house is wonderful too. I must add that I have already started shooting with the cast and I already feel that I am working with the best possible team. I just hope my fans will love my new character as much as they love the show.”

Kaushal Kapoor mentioned, “I am thrilled to be a part of one of the longest-running shows of Zee TV. I am glad that I got this mega opportunity and I am enjoying the shooting with the cast of the show. My character, Ashok, is very optimistic and treats everyone with respect. I have played this kind of role in the past, so I can easily connect with him. I am sure the upcoming track will keep the audience hooked on to their television screens.”

While Aalisha and Kaushal are really enjoying the shoot with the cast of the show, it will be intriguing for the viewers to watch if Ranbir, Prachi, and Khushi be able to safely come out of the hotel where the terrorist attack is happening. Subuhii Joshii : I think no one understands a simple love story. But honestly there is no simple love story. There is always some problem in every story . And that’s why people like to watch it. If you show it directly without any issue, I think no one will be interested in watching it. I think it’s still very popular and safe because they know everyone is going to watch it. Though everyone knows what’s going to happen in the end, the hero heroine are going to be together, the sequence is already set for every love story but still people like it. Everyone likes drama and little drama never kills anyone. I think that’s why it is popular and safe. And I think unless there is no villain in the story, how will the hero become a hero? That’s why the love triangle angle remains completely safe. And that’s why makers like that concept and will still continue to make it and people will still watch it and love it.

“Like everyone else, I have learned many things during the pandemic. First of all, I used to go to my house once every four to five months. The pandemic taught me life is quite fragile. Our parents need us, that’s why we should maintain personal and professional life balance,” he says.

The actor adds, “Since then, I talk to my family every day. I call and ask about them, I tell them about my day. I try to spend time with him by going home for a while.”

“Everyone is occupied with their respective careers but I don’t agree with people when they complain that they don’t have time. I have seen a lot of people saying we work the entire day and still don’t have time for ourselves. What is the use of such work when you can’t take out even 45 minutes from your entire day? So instead of complaining, I’ll say try to manage your time. Try to make a schedule for the next day, the night before,” he says.

Social media is a place where people spend a lot of time, says the actor. “There are pros and cons of social media. Social media is good to an extent if you use it right. The same goes for phones or any technology, which we have today in our lives. We are trying to match ourselves with other people. If you like spending time with your family on Sundays then you can take a break from your phone or anything which you want. I agree with the fact that social media is good if we use the platforms in the right way and we know how to limit them,” he says, adding, “I feel life is very simple, it’s us who make it complicated. Social media has its own pros and cons. It’s on us how much to use it. We have started taking social media seriously because of societal pressure. Social media should be there just for instant gratification. It should not affect your personal life at all.”

Time management is all about how you plan your day, says Abhishek, adding, “Everyone gets the same 24 hours but there are a few people who complete each and every task within those 24 hours and still they have some time left to spare. On the other hand, there are people who can’t complete their work before the day ends. It’s totally about our priorities, how we plan our day. Two tips which I would like to share is to plan your day properly. write down your priority work in a diary. Also, don’t overload yourselves. Do only what is essential so that you can give time to yourselves. It is very important to keep a balanced life, personally and professionally.”

“My father is a doctor and nobody from my family has been into the entertainment business before. So, it’s really challenging and exciting for me to pursue my dreams. I was born and raised in Meerut. As a kid, I was always involved in extracurricular activities, even during school days. So, I was very clear that I wanted to be an actor since then. I started my career with modelling. I was part of a really good campaign, did TV commercials and assisted on a lot of feature films,” he says.

Talking about his journey, he says, “I started my TV journey with Sony with the show India Wali Maa. The show will be very special for me as it was my first show and I was playing the negative lead in it. This was followed by Thapki on Colors. Then I got an opportunity to work with Balaji in one of their most prominent shows – Kumkum Bhagya.”

He loves his character in Kumkum Bhagya. Talking about the same, he says, “My character name is Jay in the show and Jay is Ranbir’s best friend. He is also his business partner, who is trying to help Ranbir to get close to Prachi. It’s totally a positive character, full of energy. For him, his friendship with Ranbir is really important and, as mentioned above, he will go to any extent to get Ranbir closer to Prachi.”

The actor adds that the character is very different form India wali Maa. “It’s totally an opposite character and that is what I love. However, in India Wali Maa, Sagar was totally a negative character and Jay in ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ is full of positive energy,” he says.

Full of hopes and dreams, Abhishek wants to head on to do some meaningful work in the future. “The goal is to learn every day while doing good productive work. The goal is to fly high and touch the sky with what I do the best – Acting. There are a lot of people who inspired me but I am really fond of Ranbir Kapoor. How easily he can get into the skin of any character effortlessly,” he says.

He adds, “There are a lot of things which I want to achieve in my life and I already feel that time is running out. And the pandemic has made all of us realise to live in the present while being responsible for the future. So, I make sure, I make my everyday count with full of gratitude.”

Mishal said, “This is my first time as a singer and I am a bit nervous. It was my guru Tridib Roy Choudhury, who composed the song and thought I should sing. I heard the song for the first time in London and it matched the kind of situation in my life right now.”

Ask him how it was producing the single and he said, “It was the toughest job because you have to bring creative people together. It was a beautiful learning experience and it is a romantic number. There are plans to do a second single, too. Sanjay F Gupta, the popular director of Photography of many Bollywood Films and music videos has directed the single. Sanjay had earlier directed the popular song Jalwa. He has taken my production levels and standards much higher by being a part of it.” The single is produced by Mango Lake Pictures.
