Teaser of “Phula” Launched!

The teaser for Phula, a film telling the story of Vagya-Murali traditional folk culture, has been launched. Featuring actor Subodh Bhave’s powerful voice, the teaser has captured attention, with the film set for release on April 17. Made by a group of young talents from Atpadi, this uniquely crafted film has now sparked widespread excitement.

Wrestler Ajit Shivaji Jadhav produced Phula, presented by Shivsharvil Movie and Bodhi Cinema. The story is by #AbhishekJawir, who also directed, while Ravikiran Jawir wrote the screenplay. Samadhan Aivle handled music direction, Amar Devkar managed creative direction, Ravikiran Jawir and Samadhan Aivle penned the lyrics, Prathap Joshi did cinematography, Atul Lokhande created the production design, and Rahul Prajapati managed editing. Vaishali Samant, Vaishali Made, Rohit Raut, Ravindra Khomane, Vaishali Kulkarni, Vaishnavi Adode, and Akash Nawgire lent their voices to the songs. Dance direction is by Ashutosh Kirtikar and Srushti Jadhav, costumes by Komal Jawir and Akshata Patil, and makeup by Samadhan Bhore.

Phula tells the poignant struggle of an innocent girl born to a Murali. Rooted in the traditional cultural world of Tamasha troupes and Jagran Gondhal, the story draws from Maharashtra’s folk heritage. The teaser opens with a striking frame—a girl chained, sprawled on the ground amid turmeric stains—and Subodh Bhave’s voice reciting the Sanskrit lines “Yatra naryastu pujyante, ramante tatra devata” (Where women are revered, divinity resides there). Stunning visuals follow, hinting at the film’s depth. It raises profound questions about society’s impact on a girl’s existence, building curiosity right from the teaser.
