The Teaser of “Gondhal”, Comprising Faith, Mystery, and Tradition, Out!
The teaser of the upcoming Marathi film Gondhal, which is currently playing alongside Kantara in theatres, has captivated audiences within seconds of its release. Its grand scale, striking cinematography, and technical brilliance have generated immense curiosity among viewers.
Like #Kantara and #Dashavtar, which are deeply rooted in regional traditions, Gondhal is a film that springs from the very soil of Maharashtra. While Kantara portrays rituals followed in about 20% of Karnataka and Dashavtar holds significance in the Konkan region, Gondhal is a tradition celebrated across nearly 80% of Maharashtra — and that gives this film its true strength.
The success of Kantara and Dashavtar has already proven that audiences resonate deeply with stories that reflect their culture and carry the fragrance of their land. Gondhal continues that legacy, offering a perfect blend of local tradition with international cinematic standards.
The teaser, with its grand visuals and mystical aura, grips the audience instantly. It beautifully combines traditional beliefs, folk art, and contemporary cinematic expression. The story, based on the Gondhal ritual — a devotional performance meant to ward off troubles in married life — hints at an underlying mystery waiting to unfold. Even in just a few seconds, the teaser showcases the film’s scale, technical quality, and visual grandeur.
Writer-director #SantoshDavkhare says, “Gondhal reflects Maharashtra’s faith, mystery, and traditions. Just as Kantara brought a new dimension to Karnataka’s folk culture, Gondhal will portray the spiritual depth and cultural heritage of Maharashtra. Our goal was to bring the colors, energy, and soul of this land alive on screen.”
Presented by Davkhare Films, the film’s story, screenplay, and dialogues are penned by Santosh Davkhare, with music composed by the legendary Padma Vibhushan Ilaiyaraaja. The film is co-produced by Diksha Davkhare and features a stellar cast including Kishor Kadam, Ishita Deshmukh, Yogesh Sohoni, Nishad Bhoir, Anuj Prabhu, Suresh Vishwakarma, Madhavi Juvekar, Aishwarya Shinde, Kailash Waghmare, Prabhakar Mathpati, Vitthal Kale, Pravin Dalimbkar, Sharad Jadhav, Poonam Patil, and Prashant Deshpande.
Gondhal is all set to release in theatres on 14th November.
