The Trailer of ‘Krantijyoti Vidyalaya – Marathi Medium’ Brings Back Nostalgic School Memories!

With the declining number of Marathi schools, dropping student strength, and a waning interest in mother-tongue education, filmmaker #HemantDhome recently announced his new project, Krantijyoti Vidyalaya – Marathi Medium, which he has written and directed. The film highlights the ongoing struggle for the survival of Marathi schools. Its power-packed and entertaining teaser is now out, instantly striking a chord with the audience. Hemant Dhome is known for choosing subjects rooted in everyday life, which is why his stories feel so relatable. Naturally, viewers can now look forward to revisiting their own school days and reliving precious memories through this film. The teaser strongly suggests that the movie will be both nostalgic and thoroughly entertaining, raising excitement among the audience.

The teaser shows a Marathi school on the verge of shutting down. This crisis brings its former students back together after many years, as they return to their old school. What follows is a heartwarming journey through memories, friendships, and their deep love for the institution. This time, director Hemant Dhome is all set to take the audience on an emotional trip back to their school days. The film features a strong ensemble cast of Marathi actors. Veteran actor Sachin Khedekar plays the headmaster, joined by Amey Wagh, Siddharth Chandekar, Kshitee Jog, Kadambari Kadam, Harish Dudhade, Pushkaraj Chirputkar—along with Prajakta Koli, who appears in a major role in a Marathi film for the very first time.

Speaking about the film, writer-director Hemant Dhome says, “School is the foundation of our lives. We are shaped there. Our first fear, first anger, first friendship, first love—everything begins in school. While portraying the emotional world of Marathi schools, I’ve made sure the audience will relive their own memories. Through entertainment, I’ve tried to highlight the importance of Marathi-medium schools. I am confident that this film will make people remember their school days and inspire them to support Marathi schools once again.”

Krantijyoti Vidyalaya – Marathi Medium is set to release in theatres on 1 January 2026, welcoming the New Year with a heartfelt story.

Produced by Kshitee Jog under the banner of Chalachitra Mandali, the film is co-produced by Viraj Gawas, Urfi Kazmi (Crazy Few Films), and Ajinkya Dhamal—who previously backed the successful films Jhimma and Jhimma 2.
