“Vadapav” Marks Prasad Oak’s 100th Film as an Actor!
Say Vadapav, and it instantly makes your mouth water. Just like the iconic snack blends spice and flavor, relationships too become more memorable when they carry both sweetness and a dash of spice. That’s exactly the experience the upcoming Marathi family entertainer Vadapav promises to deliver. Recently, the film’s fun-filled teaser dropped on social media, revealing that it’s set to be a heartwarming yet spicy family love story.
Directed by and starring #PrasadOak, Vadapav marks a special milestone as his 100th film as an actor. For the first time, Oak takes on the dual role of director and actor in the same project, making this journey all the more memorable for him and his fans.
The teaser keeps things crisp yet impactful, hinting at a story that blends humor, emotions, and family values—offering audiences a wholesome cinematic feast. The cast includes Prasad Oak, #AbhinayBerde, #GauriNalawade, #RasikaVengurlekar, #ShalvaKinjawadekar, #RitikaShrotri, #SameerShirwarkar, #SiddharthSalvi, #AshwiniDeoleKinhikar, and #SavitaPrabhune in key roles.
The film is produced under the Cinematic Kida banner and presented by AB International Films LLP, Merge XR Studio, Victor Movies Ltd., Ameya Vinod Khopkar Entertainment, and Mohsin Khan. Producers include Amit Basnet, Prajay Kamat, Swati Khopkar, and Ninad Nandkumar Batin, with Tabrez M. Patel and Sanis Khakurel as co-producers. Sanjay Memane serves as cinematographer, while the story has been penned by Siddharth Salvi.
Director Prasad Oak shared, “Vadapav is a story that appeals to everyone—young and old alike. Just like the snack, the film is about the sweetness and spice in relationships. Through humor and emotions, we want audiences of all ages to find themselves in this story.”
Producer Ameya Khopkar added, “Marathi audiences have always embraced family-centric films. Vadapav brings out the true flavor of relationships. The smiles we saw on people’s faces after the teaser—that’s already our first success. This film will make you laugh, cry, and reflect.”
Producer Ninad Batin emphasized the generational appeal: “Just as three generations at home relish a plate of vadapav together, this film too is a story of three generations. It’s meant to be watched as a family, and I’m confident it will reach every household.”
Producer Amit Basnet, originally from Nepal, expressed his cultural connection: “I’ve always been fascinated by Marathi culture—its food, literature, and art. After producing London Misal, I’m proud to back Vadapav. Marathi cuisine is deeply tied to emotions, and vadapav is no exception. Life needs both warmth and spice, or relationships turn bland. That’s the balance our film shows. The teaser itself made people feel this story belongs to their own home—familiar, yet with a refreshing new flavor.”
