Veteran Actress Sulakshana Pandit Passes Away in Mumbai

Veteran Bollywood actress and playback singer Sulakshana Pandit passed away on 6th November 2025 at 8 PM at Nanavati Hospital, S.V. Road, Vile Parle (West), Mumbai. She was 71 and had been unwell for some time, according to family sources.

Sulakshana Pandit, who lived with her sister Vijeta Pandit, was a prominent name in the Indian film industry during the 1970s and 1980s. She starred in notable films such as Uljhan, Hera Pheri, Salaakhen, Chehre Pe Chehra, Apnapan, and Khandaan, among others.

Coming from a family deeply rooted in music and cinema, Sulakshana was known for both her acting and her melodious voice. Her charm, grace, and expressive performances earned her a special place in the hearts of audiences.

Her passing marks the end of an era for the Pandit family, which includes celebrated names such as Vijeta Pandit and Jatin-Lalit, the popular music composer duo.

Fans and colleagues from the film fraternity have expressed deep sorrow over her demise, remembering her as one of the most graceful and talented artists of her time.

Her funeral details are expected to be announced soon.
