Well Done Aai

Vishakha Subhedar’s Comic Riot in ‘Well Done Aai’!

Educated or not, modern or traditional, calm or fiery—regardless of her temperament, a mother is always a mother. Blessed with the power of creation, she is revered second only to God. For generations, poets have celebrated the essence of motherhood through their verses, and filmmakers have explored her many facets on screen. Yet, no portrayal can ever truly encompass the depth of a mother’s greatness.

Bringing a fresh perspective to the spirit and strength of a mother comes the upcoming Marathi comedy film ‘Well Done Aai’, set to release across Maharashtra on November 14. The film’s motion poster was recently unveiled, creating a buzz among audiences.

Presented by Deepali Productions and produced by Sudhir Patil, the film is written and directed by Shankar Archana Bapu Dhulgude. The story follows a loving mother who is devoted to her son’s happiness—even if it means standing up to her own husband or going against the world. Alongside managing her household, she works in a small eatery and takes on various odd jobs to support her family. This resilient character mirrors the lives of countless real-life mothers.

Stepping into this spirited and comedic role is #VishakhaSubhedar, fondly known as the “Comedy Queen of Maharashtra” and widely recognized for her work in Maharashtrachi Hasya Jatra. The film also stars Vijay Nikam, Ayush Patil, Jayawant Wadkar, Simran Khedekar, Beena Siddharth, Tanvi Dhuri, and Vipul Khandale. The motion poster features Vishakha Subhedar striking a cheerful thumbs-up pose against a chawl backdrop, accompanied by the film’s catchy title track ‘Well Done Aai’.

The screenplay, story, and dialogues are penned by Sandeep Gachande and Shankar Dhulgude. Cinematography is by Ranjit Sahu, and editing by Nilesh Gavand. The songs, written by Gachande, are composed by Nishad Golambare. The film will be distributed by Cinepolis.

With a powerful message wrapped in laughter and emotions, Well Done Aai promises to strike a heartfelt chord with audiences this festive season.
