A riveting effort!

The film Yadvi , directed by Jyoti Singh and starring Chandrachur Singh, Jyoti Singh, Gauri Singh etc is about the true story of a Patiala princess, who maintains her dignity and values, despite having been neglected by her husband and father-in-law. She is brought up in total luxury, but loses all her wealth, having no choice, as those circumstances were placed upon her, leading her to lead an ordinary life.
Beginning of the film demonstrates biography of the royal family where a Sikh princess from Patiala is being married off at an early age into royal family of Maihar, Madya Pradesh. It engrosses you. The film has been made in honor of the directors grandmother who was unable to pursue her ancestral marital property after being abandoned and she faced hard times while raising three daughters in Ranikhet.
Jyoti as the princess and Rahul as her husband lend credence to their roles with honesty. The locations are authentic. The music by Anuj Garg matches the film’s mood. Bhupinder Singh as played by Chandrachur Singh was the first man in India to own an aircraft and also the first to be gifted the latest Rolls Royce after having justifiably insulted the manufacturer by using his cars as garbage cleaners –for an unforgivable slight on himself.
