Review : Tuzhyat Mee : Love is Sacrifice!
Romantic musicals are favourites with the audiences. Romance being the most important emotion for all, almost all films feature that with varying degrees. Also good music always gets appreciated by the audiences and the combination of romance and music in a film makes it a winning proposition. Recently released Marathi film Tuzhyat Mee follows that tradition and entertains audiences in a big way. Apart from romantic story and lilting music it also throws a message or two enlightening audiences.
Amar (Shaktivir Dhiral) is a young college going lad who enjoys playing Kabaddi. He represents his college in that sport and stays with his elder brother and mum-like sister-in-law. Rani is a daughter of a wealthy person Devnath Jadhav in the village and her maternal uncle Malharrao Jadhav (Bharat Ganeshpure) stays with them. Her father is very gentle person but her Mama is totally opposite of him. Rani joins the college where Amar is studying. Initially both lock horns over trivial things but Amar falls head over heals in love with Rani. Rani treats him as a friend and life goes on with dream sequences and songs. But suddenly Rani’s father is found dead and Rani has to run away from the house to save her life. To know the reasons why Rani needs to flee house, you’ll have to watch the movie Tuzhyat Mee on big screen.
The story of Tuzhyat Mee treads usual path of poor boy meets rich girl formula. The screenplay of the second half is impressive where a lot of things take place and the movie throws a social message of organ donation. Direction is good and the songs are picturised beautifully. The item song by Heena Panchal stands out and is one of the highlights of the movie. Music is lilting and cinematography too is good. Editing should have been a bit crisp though. Shaktivir Dhiral has played protagonist with ease and he has done a good job. Prajakta Shinde looks beautiful and her costumes are noteworthy. She has acted well showing range of emotions. Bharat Ganeshpure does well in his two shaded role.
Tuzhyat Mee talks about sacrifice in love and underlines the importance of organ donation.
