Review : Raid 2: Action Packed Thriller!
#AjayDevgn once again proves he’s a born actor, seamlessly taking on roles ranging from the fearless inspector to the determined IRS officer, and even the loving family man. Raid 2 reinforces his exceptional talent, offering a gripping storyline and concept that live up to the high expectations set by the success of Raid (2018). With the audience eager for more of the same intensity, this sequel delivers on all fronts, keeping viewers hooked from start to finish.
In Raid 2, Ajay Devgn returns as #AmayPatnaik, who is on his 75th raid. The movie begins with a raid on Raja Sahab (#GovindNamdev), who manages to send the Income Tax officers away by frightening them with gunshots fired in the air. Meanwhile, Raja Sahab secretly sends his black money and gold out through a truck. Amay Patnaik, however, seizes the stash of black money and gold. Later, Raja Sahab’s PA tries to bribe Amay with an under-the-table settlement. Amay doesn’t say a word but writes down the price for the bribe on paper. This news goes viral, leading to Amay’s transfer to Bhoj.
In Bhoj, Dada Manohar Bhai, the Home Minister, is revered like a god by the villagers for his good deeds. On his first day at work, Amay begins to dig into Dadabhai’s life, uncovering corruption, black money, and illegal land dealings. When Amay plans a raid to expose Dadabhai, all the evidence is destroyed, leaving Amay humiliated in front of the villagers and staff. Dadabhai mocks Amay, but strategically offers him a tip, a move that ultimately leads Amay to uncover deeper truths and carry out the actual raid.
Ajay Devgn’s performance is exceptional as always, delivering his trademark charisma and the authoritative presence of an officer. While roles like this have been seen before in Singham, Raid and Drishyam, Amay’s character again feels fresh and exciting here.
#RiteishDeshmukh, coming from a political family himself, fits perfectly into his role as Dada Manohar Bhai. While his previous villainous roles in Ek Villain and Marjaavaan had already made an impact, this role feels completely different. His performance is striking, and his expressions are on point, making this character feel entirely new.
#VaaniKapoors role as Amay’s wife is crucial to the story. Despite having limited screen time, her performance makes a significant impact. Her character brings emotional depth to the film, and her presence adds a layer of humanity to the intense narrative.
The movie’s pacing, cinematography, and meticulous planning keep the audience engaged until the very end. The story is clear, well-paced, and avoids feeling rushed. In a country like India, where political parties hold significant influence, the movie sheds light on the true nature of politicians, offering a glimpse into their real-world influence.
#RajKumarGupta returns with a brilliant script, one that took four years to develop. His attention to every detail makes this crime thriller a must-watch, and it’s poised to be a huge success.
