Red Letter

Ajit Arora’s Mini Feature Film ‘Red Letter’ to Release on 9th August!

Following a stirring world premiere at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, filmmaker #AjitAroras suspense drama Red Letter is now set for its digital release on 9th August 2025, exclusively on the ShemarooMe OTT. This riveting mini feature boldly addresses a silenced injustice that continues to echo through generations, earning acclaim at Cannes for its bold narrative, impactful subject, and emotionally charged performances.

Presented by Aurora Productions in collaboration with Zee Music and ShemarooMe, Red Letter is a tightly-woven social thriller that unfolds with the intensity and scale of a full-length feature. Shot on authentic locations across Kashmir, the film evokes a vivid atmosphere — fusing raw realism with striking cinematic craft. Despite its compact duration, the film boasts rich production values, with meticulous attention to detail across cinematography, sound, and design, ensuring a visually immersive experience.

Speaking about the film, Ajit Arora — who has written, directed, and plays the lead role — shared:

“Red Letter isn’t defined by its shorter runtime; it’s a fully immersive cinematic experience. We’ve used live locations, layered the visuals with detailed VFX, and woven in a soul-stirring track by Javed Ali to ensure every element pulls you into the world of the story. It’s a historical narrative rooted in a subject that urgently needs attention and will stay with viewers long after the screen fades to black.”
The story explores themes of unspoken trauma, buried pain, and enduring silence — ultimately offering a stirring message of truth, justice, and emotional reckoning. At its core is Abhi, played by Ajit Arora, a man forced to confront a long-buried past and a dark societal truth that refuses to stay hidden.

Krishma Thakur, Javaid Ahmad Khan, Affan Shah, and Mohsin Akram are among the key cast members who deliver emotionally resonant performances. With Ajit Arora leading not just in front of the camera but also behind it, the project is a deeply personal and powerful piece of storytelling.

The evocative music is composed by Gulraj Singh, with poignant lyrics penned by Ajit Arora himself. The haunting background score by Gulraj Singh amplifies the film’s emotional currents, while Javed Ali’s soulful voice adds an unforgettable musical dimension.

With a U/A certification, Red Letter is accessible to a wide audience — offering both a gripping watch and a socially relevant message.

With this film, Ajit Arora doesn’t just tell an urgent story — he redefines what’s possible in the mini feature format, setting a new benchmark for compact storytelling in Indian cinema.
