Motapa Mukt Bharat: A Nationwide Digital Initiative to Reverse Obesity Through Ayurveda and Technology!

Obesity is no longer confined to cities or office jobs — it has quietly become one of India’s biggest health threats, driving diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease nationwide.

On September 17, 2025, coinciding with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s birthday, Madhavbaug launched the Motapa Mukt Bharat Abhiyan — a nationwide digital initiative to reverse obesity through Ayurveda and technology.

“From the Red Fort this Independence Day, our Prime Minister called attention to obesity as a growing national threat. Motapa Mukt Bharat is our answer to that call,” said Dr. Rohit Sane, Founder & CEO of Madhavbaug.

The program begins with a digital Obesity Risk Score, followed by personalized diet plans, home-based exercise modules, and lifestyle guidance. “This is not about crash diets or shortcuts. Our goal is to empower people to adopt habits that last a lifetime,” Dr. Sane emphasized.

Experts warn that obesity in India has nearly doubled in urban areas over the past 15 years, with rural regions quickly catching up. “If we don’t act now, we will see a generation burdened with lifestyle diseases at a very young age,” cautioned Dr. Sane.

Participants are already sharing success stories. “I was skeptical at first,” said #MeeraJoshi, a 42-year-old homemaker from Pune. “But after two weeks on the plan, I felt lighter, more energetic, and my sugar readings improved — all without leaving home.”

Accessible online, the campaign positions health as a family and national responsibility. Madhavbaug’s message is simple: when one person becomes healthier, families thrive, and India grows stronger.
