Reel Star

Grand Music Launch of ‘Reel Star’ – Hitting Cinemas on October 17 Across Maharashtra!

The eagerly awaited Marathi film Reel Star is gearing up for its statewide theatrical release on October 17. Right from its announcement, the project has remained in the spotlight, and now its soulful soundtrack has been officially unveiled for audiences. The film blends a strong, meaningful narrative with melodious music, promising both heart and substance. The grand music launch event was recently hosted at the Swatantryaveer Savarkar Auditorium near Shivaji Park, Dadar, with the cast, crew, and producers gracing the occasion. The songs of Reel Star will be available under the prestigious Saregama label.

Backed by J-Fives Entertainment, Phoenix Group, and Initiative Films, the movie is produced by Jose Abraham, Monica, and Nishil Kambati, and presented by Nasir Khan and Gurvinder Singh of Nirmaldeep Production. After their Hindi-Marathi feature Anya, directors #Simmy and #Robin return with Reel Star. The story follows Bhanudas, a humble street vendor, and his family, exploring his pursuit of dreams amidst everyday struggles—an emotional journey designed to inspire viewers. In the lead role is Bhushan Manjule, brother of acclaimed filmmaker Nagraj Manjule, while Prasad Oak makes a strong impression as a journalist.

The soundtrack of Reel Star features five unique tracks that mirror different moods in the film. Four songs have been composed by Drishyam-fame Vinu Thomas, while the hard-hitting number Ghaav De Jara Ra… is composed by Shubham Bhat, who has earlier worked alongside music legend A. R. Rahman. Highlights include Gar Gar Gara…, penned by Mandar Cholkar and rendered by Abhijeet Kosambi and Sayli Kamble, and Jaguya Mansokta Sare…, also written by Mandar, sung by Rohit Raut. Guru Thakur’s poignant lyrics for Ka Sunun Sunun Jhala… are brought to life by vocalist Manish Rajgire, while Phulora…—again by Mandar Cholkar—is soulfully delivered by Mugdha Karhade. Adarsh Shinde lends his powerful voice to Vaibhav Deshmukh’s lyrics in Ghaav De Jara Ra…, backed by Shubham Bhat’s stirring music.

The screenplay has been crafted by Sudhir Kulkarni, a longtime associate of Nagraj Manjule. Alongside Bhushan Manjule and Prasad Oak, the film’s ensemble includes Milind Shinde, Kailas Waghmare, Urmila Jagtap, Ruchira Jadhav, Swapnil Rajshekhar, Shubhangi Latkar, Vijay Patkar, Anant Mahadevan, Dnyanesh Wadekar, Mahesh Subhedar, Shivaji Patne, Ganesh Revdekar, Abhinav Patekar, Vishal Arjun, Rajesh Malvankar, Prashant Shinde, and Karishma Desale. Young talents Arjun Gaykar and Tanushka Mhadse also take on pivotal roles.

Behind the scenes, the film’s vision has been shaped by several talented technicians: make-up by Bhagwat Sonawane, costumes by Rani Wankhade, casting by Deepak Pandey, and associate direction by #RohitKulkarni. Mahendra Patil serves as creative producer, with Nandu Acharekar as chief associate director. Production design comes from Rahul Sharma and Sameer Chitnavis, while art direction is handled by Nilesh Rasal.
