‘Nirdhar’ attempts to portray the voice of the youth, trailer out!

When youth come together with determination, they hold the strength to transform society. The forthcoming Marathi film ‘Nirdhar’ captures this very spirit through a compelling tale of courageous youngsters taking on the system. After the soulful track ‘#VandeMataram’ made waves, the makers have now released the film’s gripping trailer. The movie will hit theatres statewide on 28th November.
Backed by producer Padmaja Walawalkar under the Jaylakshmi Creation banner, ‘Nirdhar’ is directed by Dilip Bhopale and is based on a story penned by #DinanathWalawalkar. The trailer opens by establishing the film as a saga of grit and resistance. Viewers are shown visuals of people running with blazing torches, followed by the unsettling sight of burning homes. At its core, the film deals with the fight against corruption and showcases how a spark of revolution ignites when unity becomes a weapon. Amid the chaos, a desperate cry—“Someone please save us!”—sets a haunting tone. Scenes from the song ‘Vande Mataram…’ then appear, intensifying the emotion. The narrative raises a crucial question: If corruption seems impossible to defeat, how does one eliminate it? The film seeks to explore that answer. With its sharp edit and strong visuals, the trailer succeeds in building intrigue and clearly states the film will arrive on 28th November.
Sharing his thoughts, director #DilipBhopale expressed that the film is not made merely for entertainment—it also carries a powerful social message. Since cinema is an impactful medium, ‘Nirdhar’ attempts to portray the voice of the youth through their own experiences. The film addresses various social and political concerns, reflecting the thoughts, beliefs, and viewpoints of today’s generation. Producer Padmaja Walawalkar added that the movie was crafted with the belief that every individual holds a responsibility toward society.
The film features a large ensemble cast including Dr. Girish Oak, Saurabh Gogate, Pallavi Patwardhan, Pragya Kelkar, Milind Uke, Umesh Bolke, Abhinav Kurne, Janhvi Sawant, Rutuja Kanojia, Abhay Patil, Shreyas Mohite, Dinanath Walawalkar, Yuvraj Zhugar, Ketaki Patil, Pallavi Prasad, Anand Patil, Surendra Ketkar, Vidya Dange, N.D. Chougule, Komal Randive, and several others. Pickle Entertainment will distribute the film across Maharashtra. Atul Supare has handled cinematography, while Vicky Bidkar has overseen art direction. Makeup is by Atul Shidhaye, and costumes are designed by Prashant Parker. Kailas Bhalerao serves as production manager, and Ajay Khade as line producer. Sangram Bhalakar has choreographed the film, with Atharva Walawalkar as creative producer. Rahul Patil is the associate director, and Santosh Jadhav is the chief assistant director.
