Kedar Shinde and Sana Shinde Announce Aai Bhadyane Havi?

Director Kedar Yashodhara Shinde, known in Marathi cinema for giving a distinct identity to women-centric and family-oriented subjects, is now coming to audiences with yet another unique and thought-provoking concept. After the successful films Agabai… Arechyaa!, Baipan Bhari Deva, and Aga Aga Sunbai! Kay Mhanta Sasubai?, a new film titled Aai Bhadyane Havi? has been announced.

Produced under the banner of Sunflower Studio, the story and screenplay of this film are by Vaishali Shashi Naik and Omkar Vasundhara Datt, with cinematography and editing by Mayur Sanjivani Hardas. Interestingly, after Aga Aga Sunbai! Kay Mhanta Sasubai?, producer Sana Shinde, director Kedar Shinde, writer Vaishali Shashi Naik, and writer Omkar Vasundhara Datt are teaming up once again, which has further heightened curiosity about the film.

Director Kedar Shinde says, “Handling women-centric subjects is always both a responsibility and a challenge. Until a story truly touches my heart, I am determined not to start making such a film. Work on both Aga Aga Sunbai! Kay Mhanta Sasubai? and Aai Bhadyane Havi? began in 2023. Aai Bhadyane Havi? carries a flavor reminiscent of the style of Rajkumar Hirani, whom I consider an ideal. This is not just a comedy film, but an experience that explores the core of the relationship called ‘mother’ and touches the heart. My aim is always to entertain and also make people think, and that will be strongly felt in this film. The title itself reflects the emotional restlessness of today’s times. Casting is currently underway, and audiences will get to see ‘mothers’ from different age groups. Filming will begin around June–July.”

Producer #SanaShinde says, “Because of the love audiences gave our first film, there is equal excitement about this new one as well. While the first film had a stronger emotional tone, Aai Bhadyane Havi? is completely entertainment-driven, vibrant, and a multistarrer. It offers a beautiful blend of relationships, emotions, and humor. Personally, I like women-centric stories, and within that, ‘mother’ is the strongest and most impactful character in anyone’s life. We consistently strive to offer meaningful and emotionally resonant films, and this film is another step in that direction.”

The unusual title #AaiBhadyaneHavi? itself is sparking curiosity in the audience. In today’s changing family structures, the film seems set to comment, in a light-hearted yet impactful way, on the need for a mother’s role, the void created by her absence, and the emotional emptiness behind it. With its combination of fun, laughter, and entertainment on one hand, and introspective, thought-provoking content on the other, Aai Bhadyane Havi? is poised to be a truly unique experience for viewers.

How exactly this search for a ‘mother’ unfolds on screen is now something to keenly look forward to.
