When it comes to survival horror, Resident Evil is a franchise that has terrified audiences for nearly three decades. This year, Resident Evil is all set to make a return on the big screen with #ZachCregger seated in the director’s chair. The first trailer was released a few weeks ago, giving fans a glimpse of the horrifying mayhem that is waiting to unfold. A second trailer has now released and it teases that the stakes are higher than ever.

With the release of the second trailer, audiences get a deeper glimpse into a terrifying new chapter filled with chaos, suspense and high stakes survival, promising a fresh cinematic experience while staying true to the franchise’s chilling roots. The trailer also offers a look at the visionary filmmaker’s distinct storytelling style to Resident Evil. Cregger has worked his horror charm with his acclaimed horror films Barbarian and Weapons.

Resident Evil Reimagined follows Bryan, played by Austin Abrams, a medical courier who unwittingly finds himself caught in a night of unimaginable horror. What begins as a routine assignment quickly spirals into an action-packed, relentless race for survival, as chaos erupts around him and the line between life and death blurs with every passing moment.

The film is produced by Columbia Pictures and Constantin Film, in association with TriStar Pictures. Sony Pictures Entertainment India releases Resident Evil on 18th September, 2026 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, exclusively in cinemas.
