From Khakee in 2004 to Drishyam The Conclusion, Kamlesh Sawant Calls Ajay Devgn a “Legend” and shares experience of working with him on Drishyam!

Few characters stand out as sharply in the Drishyam world as Gaitonde and his unforgettable one-liners. As Drishyam The Conclusion sets the stage for the franchise’s ultimate showdown, the relentless cop who has been relentlessly pursuing Vijay Salgaonkar and his family since 2015 is back. Leaving nothing to chance this time, Gaitonde teams up with SP Crime Branch Officer Rajveer Singh Tomar (played by Jaideep Ahlawat) to finally unravel the mystery once and for all.

Talking about working with Ajay Devgn, Kamlesh Sawant recalls an interesting anecdote from the sets of Drishyam, sharing a memorable moment from the first instalment. The actor mentioned, “In 2004 I did Khakee with Ajay Devgn which was directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, after 11 years, we were doing Drishyam 1 in Goa, I usually don’t go upto superstars and disturb them on shoot days and rather focus on my character’s take.”

Elaborating further, he shared, “One day Ajay Devgn sir saw me and walked up to me and said, “Kamlesh Tu Khakee mein tha na, black mein, mein tuje goli marta hu.” and then he said, “Now everyone around wanted to know who is playing Gaitonde, let’s make the best of his character.” I replied, “Nahi sir, iss character ko nibhane ki, nayae dene ki mein puri koshish karunga.” So, that is the kind of Legend Ajay Devgn is, he himself walked up to have a conversation with me, and it is a very big deal for a character actor like me.”

With Drishyam The Conclusion inching closer to its final chapter, the stakes are higher than ever for Vijay Salgaonkar and his family. Will he manage to outsmart the law one final time?

Directed by Abhishek Pathak, Drishyam The Conclusion stars Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj, Kamlesh Sawant, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav among others bringing together a powerhouse ensemble for the ultimate chapter of the celebrated franchise.

Presented by Star Studio18, the Panorama Studios production is directed by Abhishek Pathak and written by Abhishek Pathak, Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh. Produced by Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak, Drishyam The Conclusion is all set to release theatrically on 2nd October 2026.
