Marathi Rapper Swagger Boy and international Mexican artist Freebot release ‘Nach Na’!
Music knows no boundaries of language or country, and “Nach Na”—a powerful tech-tribal track—has now reached music lovers. The international collaboration between Mexican electronic music artist Freebot and Maharashtra’s Marathi artist Swagger Boy is presented by World of Vibes. The song has been produced by Kolhapur’s Rock Kachhi, who is also the founder of the World of Vibes music record label. Zahid Sayyad has directed the video. Actress Ekta, actor Rock Kachhi, and rapper Swager Boy feature in the song.
The blend of Marathi, Hindi, and Spanish, the energy of electronic music, and Maharashtra’s deep-rooted musical identity make “Nach Na” a distinctive track. Through this song, an effort has been made to take Maharashtra’s music to the international stage.
The idea for “Nach Na” took shape during Freebot’s visit to India. As part of the journey that began through World of Vibes, the team wanted to create something unique based on tech-tribal music, a style popular in Maharashtra. Rock Kachhi believed that Swager Boy’s style would fit perfectly with this beat, and Swagger Boy composed the song within just one or two days.
Although several major music labels showed interest in the track, they suggested changing the beat and presenting it in Hindi. World of Vibes, however, decided to retain the song’s Marathi identity. After facing several challenges and rejections from sponsors, Rock Kachhi and World of Vibes invested their own resources to complete the song’s production and music video.
For this project, Rock Kachhi worked as secondary producer, writer, and co-director, while Zahid Sayyad handled direction and cinematography. Zahid Sayyad had previously worked on the music video for Swagger Boy and YD’s hit song “Majhya Sonya.”
Producer and director Rock Kachhi said, “Earlier, I made the song ‘Tambdi Chambdi’ with music composer Cratex. It was the first Indian Marathi song to be released through an international record label. Recently, I created ‘Nach Na’ with rapper Swagger Boy and Mexican artist Freebot. ‘Nach Na’ is not just a song; it is an important step toward giving Maharashtra’s regional music a global platform. Along with Swagger Boy’s music, lyrics, and vocals, listeners will experience the influence of Freebot’s Mexican electronic sound. This song attempts to connect Maharashtra’s musical culture with the international electronic music world. While taking pride in the Marathi language and local music, ‘Nach Na’ carries the message of reaching global audiences. I hope it creates a storm on digital platforms. I expect this musical journey—from Maharashtra’s soil to Mexico—to mark the beginning of a new international chapter for Maharashtra’s music.”
After delivering the hit “Majhya Sonya,” Rapper Swagger Boy spoke about the making of “Nach Na”: “You supported ‘Majhya Sonya’ immensely. Now, I have brought a Marathi song in a Maharashtrian and Mexican style for you. I truly thank Rock Dada for deciding to produce this song. When the Mexican artist came to India, Rock Dada asked him to collaborate on a song, and Freebot agreed. We shot ‘Nach Na’ in Pune. For me, this song feels like a dream. It is currently trending on social media. I hope all my songs receive the same love from audiences. Make wonderful reel videos and make sure to tag us.”
