A riot of senior-actor performances and a madcap money chase the motion poster for “Afratafari” unveiled!
You never know how far the lure of money will take someone. Who’s deceiving whom, who’s turning whose plans upside down… everyone’s eyes are fixed on cash. In this game that began for selfish gain, trust, friendship, and relationships have all been sacrificed. Everyone is trying to outwit one another in this play of banknotes. And when they all set out to entangle one another… that’s when the real “Afratafari” begins!
The newly released motion poster gives a glimpse of flying currency, people scrambling after it, police activity, and escalating chaos. It raises questions: whose money is it, why are so many chasing it, and who will get trapped in this mess?
Directed by Milind Jhumber Kavade, Afratafari promises a whirlwind of incidents revolving around money and the ensuing hilarious confusion, and the motion poster conveys that tone vividly. Presented by A Skyline Cinematic and Yen Movie Studios and produced in collaboration with Out of the Box Films, the movie will hit theaters on 9 October.
The poster opens with a rural backdrop, then launches into a literal rain of notes. Characters sprint after cash, faces carrying guns, frightened people, and an intense police pursuit — together they make it hard to guess exactly what’s happening. Every character’s movement hints at hidden motives. Notably, the poster pairs this chaos with an audible line from the Bhagavad Gita — “Karmanye vadhikaraste, do not worry about the fruits of action” — creating a striking contrast between the philosophy of duty and an all-out, sometimes deadly scramble for money. That contradiction makes the motion poster even more compelling, and it raises curiosity about where greed will lead people and how lives will be upended.
Afratafari features a large ensemble of veteran Marathi actors: Mohan Agashe, Shashank Shende, Sanjay Narvekar, Omkar Bhojane, Neha Khan, Prajakta Hanamghar, Asavari Joshi, Hemant Patil, Kiran Mane, and Kunal Meshram in key roles. Their colorful portrayals and chemistry promise to heighten both the comedy and the mayhem. Director Milind Jhumber Kavade says, “Afratafari is crafted with entertainment at its core. As the money-driven plot weaves characters together, one event leads to another, making the situations increasingly funny and complicated. The motion poster gives audiences only a glimpse of this chaos. The brilliant cast, comedy, and fast-paced action will make the film a vivid experience.”
Who will win the game of notes — and who will be left with the fallout — remains to be seen. Mark your calendars for 9 October.
