Today is completion of 14 years of 26/11 #terrorattack on #Mumbai. #Actor #PriyaParamitaPaul says Mumbai is safe and #beautiful, praises #Mumbaipolice and #government for taking care of the #city.

The dark memories of 2008 Mumbai terror attacks on November 26 is still etched in our memory. This series of attacks that took many lives 14 years back was reportedly planned by a 10-member-gang belonging to Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Pakistan based terrorist organisation. Living in Mumbai, for many, this day, every year, reminds them of the hard times everyone went through. MS World International Ambassador Priya Paramita Paul, who now resides in Mumbai, talks about the event, and whether she feels safe in Mumbai since that day. Priya also shares how the incident impacted her thoughts, more so when she travels to different places in the city. Not to forget, last month there was news of bomb scare in malls.

“There’s a saying that when there are more threats in any place or individual, or there are more eyes on someone or a place, it means they are more advanced and everything is the best . And that’s why Mumbai has been always a place of terror attacks and every kind of threats —please explain and correct the same, don’t think this was transcribed correctly. I feel a lot of empathy towards those who were badly impacted by 26/11 attacks and lost their loved ones. Their loss is irreplaceable,” she adds.

Priya praises Mumbai Police and the government for working hard to improve security in the city. It’s all about learning, improving and making sure that such things don’t get repeated.

“I came to Mumbai a year back. Before that I was living in Bangalore and Bangalore has been one of the peaceful cities. So before coming here I was thinking how I would cope up because people here are so busy, and always running. But then as I had decided that this is it and I’m going to move to Mumbai, I feel I’m doing okay here. People are very good, places are very nice. I have travelled by metro, train, auto, cab and it has always been a good experience, however we do keep getting terror attack threats from time to time. But again I think that’s how our intelligence has made sure we have information in advance so that the government can take care of it. I feel safe in Mumbai. Thankfully, I’m doing well with my career too. So, for me, I think Mumbai is a very safe and beautiful city that welcomes you with open arms,” she ends.
