‘7000 years ago existed the world’s most intelligent demon! #Adipurush’ tweeted Om Raut, while announcing the film’s main villain. Adipurush stars south superstar Prabhas in a lead role. As promised Om Raut announced who will be the antagonist in his film. His ‘Tanhaji : The Unsung Warrior’ villain, Saif Ali Khan, is roped in to play antagonist in Adipurush.
The Adipurush team issued an official statement wherein they announced Saif Ali Khan has been cast in the film for the role of the main villain who is dangerous, evil and cruel. It’s not been announced officially but unconfirmed reports insinuate that Adipurush is based on Ramayana and will showcase the story of Ram and Ravan. Writer, director Om Raut has been working on this projects for months together. During lockdown he got in touch with Pan India superstar Prabhas and airdashed to meet him the moment Unlock phase allowed him to fly. On Saif Ali Khan’s selection, he opined, ‘To play the character of most powerful villain of our saga, we needed a powerful actor who’ll perform menacingly. I already have worked with him in ‘Tanhaji’ and I feel there could not have been a better choice than Saif.’ On being part of this film Saif Ali Khan reacted, ‘I am thrilled at the idea of workin with my Omi Dada once again. His technical knowledge and storytelling is fabulous. He took ‘Tanhaji’s’ story to another level. Now I am beginning to prepare to face the screen with Prabhas.’
The shoot may commence next year as the corona impact is expected to die down by that time. The film Adipurush will be shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu. It’ll will be dubbed in Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada too for a pan-India release, and also in English for International release.
The film is a magnum opus and will be screened in 3D. If the film ‘Adipurush’, is based on Ramayan then everybody is curious, who’ll be Sita?
