Virtual music launch of ‘Yaara’

The launch was graced by director Tigmanshu Dhulia alongside ace singer Shaan, Ankit Tiwari and Revant Shergill. Joining them was music director Siddharth Pandit and guitarist Gourov Dasgupta. Later the celebration was joined by the cast of ‘Yaara’ i.e Vidyut Jammwal, Amit Sadh, Vijay Varma and Kenny Basumatary. The launch was hosted by RJ Anuraag Pandey. Mumbai: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has been taking to his social media to inform his fans about the COVID-19 disease. He has also been roped in by UNICEF and Indian Health Ministry to spread awareness about the disease. The Sholay actor has been urging his fans to stay safe and maintain hygiene to battle the virus. The actor has now shared a picture of what the home quarantine stamp started by the Maharashtra government looks like on his social media handle.

The Maharashtra government has decided to stamp people getting home quarantine for suspected exposure to the novel coronavirus. The government had clarified that the idea of stamping someone’s hand was done after complaints came in that people who are supposed to be in home quarantine were out in the public, meeting people.

Earlier, Big B had shared an informative video on how to combat coronavirus and wrote a poem on it. Meanwhile, power couple Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand Ahuja have self-quarantined as a precautionary measure after returning from London. They also lauded the airport authorities for screening all travellers to detect if anyone is a virus carrier. Singer Anup Jalota has also been quarantined at home in Mumbai.

In India, a total of 147 cases have been tested positive of the novel coronavirus. 122 are Indians and the rest 25 are foreign nationals. In Maharashtra, 41 people have been tested positive and one person died due to COVID-19 in the state.

New Delhi: India faces a multi-billion-dollar hit to its economy and a tarnished reputation as a place for multinationals to invest unless it can keep Vodafone Idea in business.

Vodafone Idea, a joint venture between Britain’s Vodafone Group Plc and India’s Idea Cellular, is the most vulnerable of the mobile carriers ordered on Friday to immediately pay billions in unpaid government dues and interest following a Supreme Court ruling. It has said it cannot immediately pay the $3.9 billion it owes and its ability to survive was contingent on the government agreeing on a flexible payment schedule. With 13,000 direct employees and loans from banks of about $3.8 billion, Vodafone Idea’s potential exit would send shockwaves through India’s economy, which is already growing at its slowest pace in 11 years.

“A default of such a large scale could increase India’s fiscal deficit by about 40 basis points,” Aliasgar Shakir, a research analyst at Motilal Oswal, said.

A 40 basis point increase in fiscal deficit roughly translates to a revenue loss of about 1 trillion rupees ($14.01 billion) for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, when it is facing the country’s first fall in direct taxes in decades.

Another issue is that Vodafone, Idea’s departure would essentially leave a duopoly between Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio, which is backed by Asia’s richest man Mukesh Ambani.

That could dampen interest in an auction of 5G airwaves expected before the end of March.

A former executive at Vodafone Idea, who asked not to be identified, said the risk of deterring investment was high.

“They have been beaten down by the environment here,” the executive said. “(We’re sending investors) a very negative signal – it says the trust factor between the government and the industry doesn’t exist.”

The risks are not lost on Delhi, but finding a solution is fraught.

Two official sources said the government was seeking to come up with a plan that did not violate the court’s order. “(The government) is concerned with what is happening in the sector and its impact on the investment climate,” a top finance ministry official said, asking to remain anonymous.

A separate source said the government was seeking to structure a relief plan before the next court hearing on March 17, but declined to provide details. The telecoms ministry has been speaking with the prime minister’s office to resolve the issue, the official added.

Lawyers in the telecoms sector said the government could urge the court to allow companies to pay over a longer time frame.

India’s telecoms ministry did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Modi has faced criticism for failing to create jobs in a country where about one million job seekers enter the market every month. Even some in the business sector, which broadly cheered him to power, have turned on him. State-run banks are already burdened with some $140 billion in stressed debt. However necessary, some analysts are skeptical the government can pull together a relief plan in time.

The telcos still have some options, including filing a curative petition to the Supreme Court, although analysts see little chance of success.

“The acceptance of a curative petition itself is an onerous task – and with the Supreme Court’s tough stance now, the merits of opting for this route may have diminished,” Morgan Stanley said in a note to clients. In the meantime, Vodafone Idea has said it will pay 35 billion rupees ($490 million) in dues to the federal government by Feb. 21. Rival Bharti Airtel paid $1.40 billion on Monday, less than a third of the total it owes.

Malang becomes the highest opening movie of 2020 in UAE !

The Aditya Roy Kapur and Disha Patani starrer Malang has hit the screen across the globe. Ever since the trailer of the mystery thriller was released, it had created mystery across all quarters for it’s fresh take. The movie released in the United Arab Emirates on Thursday evening and has gone on to become the highest collecting first-day opener in UAE in 2020. The Mohit Suri directorial opened at 9102 admits in theatres. To put things into perspective, Street Dancer 3D opened with a footfall of 8158 admits with Tanhaji trailing behind which opened at 7500 admits and Jawani Jaaneman opened with 5654 tickets sold on their first day. All of these movies saw a morning opening release, whereas Chhapaak which opened at 3100 admits and Panga which opened at 2500 admits had an evening release.

The film Malang is directed by Mohit Suri and produced by T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Luv Films’ Luv Ranjan, Ankur Garg, and Northern Lights Entertainment’s Jay Shewakramani. Malang hit the theatres today on 7th February 2020.

The content from the thriller has piqued the audience’s curiosity with the posters and songs giving glimpses of Malang without revealing much about the plotline. The sizzling chemistry between Aditya and Disha has already got the fans rooting for the new age romance and the character being portrayed by Anil Kapoor and Kunal Kemmu bring the element of thrill to the audience. Anil Kapoor and Kunal Kemmu will be seen playing intriguing characters in the romantic-thriller.

On the eve of the release of Hacked today, Zee Studios organised a special screening of the film Hacked at the Bombay Stock Exchange. The leading lady of the film Hina Khan and director Vikram Bhatt also made their way to the BSE for the special screening of their film. Hacked is a stalker thriller that deals with cyber invasion and how a woman’s life turns topsy turvy after a 19-year old becomes obsessed with her.

Hina and Vikram spoke on cyber security, safety measures to be taken to create a safe environment. They rang the bell and spoke to the BSE members about the film and safety measures. The film is relatable to most of the young generation because each of them at some point has been at the receiving end of cyber crime of some form on other.

Presented by Zee Studios and produced by Krishna Bhatt, Amar Thakkar, Jatin Sethi, Hacked is now across cinemas from today.

Button Dabaido Plij is not a publicity stunt amid Delhi elections, says filmmaker Akash Goila

Filmmaker-producer Akash Goila, who is currently tasting the success of his last digital release Bedhab is all set to for his next Button Dabaido Plij which highlights the sincere issue of voting.

While the first look of Button Dabaido Plij is out today, Delhi is witnessing the elections. Was it a publicity stunt by you to launch the poster today? “No, I wasn’t looking to do a publicity stunt by releasing the poster before Delhi state elections and if one feels so then the film is releasing in October which you could probably say is a publicity stunt too because it’s right before Bihar elections,” Akash clears the air.

Talking more about the film, Akash shares, “I chose this topic because I felt that people need to understand what are the aesthetics behind voting and who is playing with their mind and making them vote for the wrong person. I just want to show through this film that how different scenarios of voting work in our country.”

“I am looking to get an interesting cast and well that’s a surprise who I am going to on board for both Button Dabaido Plij and Dum Dum Dumroo 2. I want to keep that as a surprise,” he adds.

Sharing his opinion on the current scenario of our country, Akash says, “I think what is happening in JNU and Shaheen Bagh and how people are making whole Delhi elections a prestige issue, I feel the focus should be on the real issues which are there in Delhi. I feel these issues are to actually pull down other parties and not allowing us to focus on the real problems.”

Talking on the importance of voting, he adds, “I feel more than selecting a party or who should we choose, I feel another aspect is that people are not voting and the first thing which we need to achieve is that every person steps out of there home and vote even if there vote is NOTA they need to go to the polling booth and vote so that atleast if 100% people are voting than we know the winner was chosen with fair percentage. There can’t be people only who are bribed or pressurised to vote decide who will win..”
