Clients seek to comprehend the ‘why’ behind events, beyond just predicting outcomes: Gauri Jain (Sonila)

Over her years of practice—guiding clients online and in person across India and internationally in places like Dubai, Canada, the UK, the US, and Australia—astrologer and Vastu expert Gauri Jain has observed a noticeable transformation in the types of questions and concerns people bring to her.

Asked how the three disciplines she works across come together, she explains that they operate in tandem rather than isolation. “Astrology, Vastu, and Counselling may seem like three different domains, but in my consultations, they work together in a deeply connected and complementary way,” she said.

She breaks down what each one contributes individually. “Through Astrology, I understand you, your personality, your strengths, your challenges, your karmic patterns, and the timing of events in your life. It helps me see why things are happening and when certain phases will unfold,” she said.

Vastu, she explains, addresses something equally important but external. “Through Vastu, I work on your external environment. The space you live and work in carries energy, and that energy directly influences your thoughts, decisions, health, and growth,” she said.

“I have often observed that even a strong horoscope can struggle in an imbalanced space, while a well-aligned environment can enhance opportunities and positivity,” she added.

Counselling, the third piece, ties both together on a practical level. “Through Counselling, I guide you on a practical and emotional level. I help you understand how to respond to situations, how to make better decisions, and how to align your actions with both your chart and your surroundings,” she said.

She’s also noticed a clear shift in why people come to her at all, compared to a decade ago. “Today, most people come with questions around career stability, financial growth, relationships, mental peace, and decision-making. There is a strong desire for clarity, quick results, and emotional balance,” she said.

She describes a generation that’s more informed but also more restless. “People are more aware, yet more restless, they want to move fast, achieve more, and avoid mistakes. A decade ago, the concerns were simpler and more structured, marriage, childbirth, basic career direction, or family issues. There was more patience and acceptance of time,” she said.

“With social media and fast-paced lifestyles, comparison, anxiety, and confusion have increased. People seek not just predictions, but reassurance, direction, and emotional support,” she added.

For those just beginning to explore astrology, her advice is to stay grounded rather than dependent. “If you are exploring astrology for the first time, don’t begin with blind faith, begin with openness. You don’t need to believe everything instantly; treat it as a tool to understand yourself better,” she said.

“Most importantly, don’t become dependent, astrology should guide you, not control you. Your karma and actions remain the most powerful forces, and with time, your own experiences will shape your belief,” Gauri ended.
