Every girl is beautiful, and each one looks at oneself holds Cinderella’s mirror. Again beauty is subjective and every female is obsessed with that idea. Mirror is every girl’s best friend. But in today’s times the idea of beauty is drastically transforming. There are different forms of beauty. Physical, mental, emotional, psychological, educational, economical and many more. That’s why it’s said, ‘beauty is in the eyes of the beholder’. In modern times external beauty like, ‘six-packs’ or a ‘zero-figure’ has gained importance. As a lot of importance is given to the ‘size’, obese girls are laughed at and are difficult to marry off due to set societal mindset. Colors Marathi is going to put focus on this flaw of the society through their new offering ‘Sundara Manamadhe Bharli‘.
Written by Madhugandha Kulkarni, the story is produced by Strawberry Pictures. Akshayaa Naik will play the role of Latika and Sameer Paranjape will play the role of Abhimanyu. Get ready to get yourself entertained. Watch ‘Sundara Manamadhe Bharli’ from 31st August from Monday to Saturday at 9.00 pm on Colors Marathi.
In every household one person holds the fort and makes the house ‘home’. Latika is such person who with her clever in studies, humorous, witty, playful and culinary expert. Only flaw, as per the society’s norms, is that she is overweight. She is taunted for her ‘size’ and sadly because of her fatness she is unable to get a groom. She has been refused by not one, not two, but 34 guys. Best part is Latika is okay with this and don’t give much importance and keeps her life moving happily. In contrast to this, Abhimanyu, is a fitness freak, well built, smart and school-college topper, enters the scene. He has vowed to make the entire town fighting fit and wants to open a fitness centre. These two variant characters come face to face anytime? What are views of both on marriage? The destiny has the answers which will be available in ‘Sundara Manamadhe Bharli’
Speaking about the serial, Deepak Rajadhyaksh, Head Marathi Television, Viacom 18, said, “To date, we have brought a serials on a variety of topics. These serials are very popular among the viewers. Our newest serial ‘Sundara Manamadhe Bharli’ is based on a very delicate topic. Attempts have been made to handle it very gently. Even in the modern age of gender equality, the physicality of girls is given more importance. We think this serial will start to change the way people look at beauty”.
He further said, “After the crisis that has befallen us, Colors Marathi is once again bringing a serial based on a totally different theme. Through the serial, a new duo of Akshayaa Naik and Sameer Paranjape will visit the audience. With a set of experienced actors and unique stories, I am sure we‘ll elevate our primetime band with ‘Sundara Manamadhe Bharli”.
The writer of the serial, Madhugandha Kulkarni, said, “It is said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder .. but still the roots of beauty ideas are deeply rooted in our society. Obese people and obesity is a subject of ridicule. Fatness is what is made fun of. Everyone forgets, they are human too. Through ‘Sundara Manamadhe Bharli’ we have tried to press this issue with a macho-hunk boy and obese girl’s love story. It’ll help widen the horizons of everybody’s minds”.
Manava Naik, the producer of the serial, said, “The whole team is working hard with the feeling that we have got the opportunity to overcome the stalemate caused by the lockdown. The subject of the serial is very different and we are trying to present it in a very simple but beautiful way. Of course, I am little tensed but it’s a part of the job as tension prevails while any new show is getting telecast. We are shooting in picturesque Nasik and the local lingo is used in the serial. I am confident that ‘Sundara Manamadhe Bharli’ will hit the right cord with the viewers”.
A young girl is full of expectations from life. The same is true with Latika who has dreams of different kind. What really is ‘Beauty’, is the question raised in this serial. ‘Sundara Manamadhe Bharli’ will start airing from 31st August, ‘20, Monday to Saturday at 9.00 pm on Colors Marathi.
