Harish Patel who has etched an enviable spot in Bollywood and Hollywood with his landmark roles will be as Agastya Rishi in the Sony show Vighnaharta Ganesh. Known for his stellar performances in Indian television shows like Malgudi Days, this is his first role in a mythological show. Since 2007, Harish Patel has been busy with different plays in the UK where he was an integral part of Rafta Rafta (Royal National Theatre production) and in 2017 enacted the role of Friar Lawrence for Shakespeare’s Globe in Romeo and Juliet. Harish confirms, “I always wanted to be a part of a mythology show but was unable to do so due to certain overseas assignments. When I was approached to play Agastya Rishi, it excited me. The narration along with state-of-the-art motion capture special effects makes it distinct from the other shows. I researched about my character on the web to prepare for the role.”
