“I Feel Really Quite Lucky”: Saif Ali Khan Reflects on Fatherhood, Modern Family Bonding, and Life with Kareena Kapoor Khan!
From being a hands-on father to a husband Kareena Kapoor is still smitten by, #SaifAliKhan owns the Koffee couch like a pro
While Saif Ali Khan has long captivated audiences with his trademark suave charm and sharp wit, his latest appearance on Koffee With Karan offered fans an intimate look into his personal priorities off-screen. Speaking candidly about his family dynamic, his bond with his children, and his relationship with Kareena Kapoor Khan, the actor revealed the deeply supportive father and husband behind the stardom.
Asked about how his family has found its own rhythm over the years, Saif was generous in acknowledging everyone’s efforts. “Everyone has been really wonderful and understanding. And of course, I would credit Kareena and credit everyone because these things work both ways. And of course, she makes it easy and is wonderful with Sara and Ibrahim, and they also make an effort and reciprocate it,” he said.
He was equally appreciative of Ibrahim’s relationship with his younger brothers, Taimur and Jeh. “He is also amazing with them. They love playing with him. Sometimes he comes over and he goes to their rooms and asks them questions and has his own equation with them. He’s a lovely boy for having that kind of equation,” Saif said. It was a proud father’s account of watching his children build relationships of their own.
Saif also spoke about wanting to bring the family together over meals, something he had enjoyed seeing at Salman Khan’s home. “We do try and do it sometimes where we have elders at the table and the kids and everyone together. Sunday lunches or something like this. And people find their own pockets and start talking,” he said. He added that he sometimes looks around and feels “really quite lucky to be there”.
And Kareena? She is clearly still smitten. Recalling seeing Saif at a screening of Omkara, she told him, “You were looking really hot,” remembering his black kurta and pyjamas. Years later, the compliment still came easily. Watching them together, it is apparent that the attraction has made room for something even sweeter – marriage, friendship, family and a great deal of affection. As the couple agreed on the couch, it is commitment that makes a marriage work. To quote the Nawab himself – Nazar naa lage! We echo that unanimously!
