In Bol Bol Rani’s first song, ‘Supernova’, love, mystery and emotion collide!
The powerful trailer of Bol Bol Rani left audiences full of questions, and now the film’s first song, “Supernova,” has arrived — revealing a different, emotional side of the movie’s world.
More than a conventional love song, “Supernova” is meant to be felt as much as heard. A supernova is the immense burst of light from a star’s explosion; taking that metaphor, the song captures a stage of love so intense it changes the course of life. It does not unravel the film’s mystery, but it offers a glimpse into the emotional universe that fuels it.
Rendered in Sujen Dimol’s soulful voice and reinforced by A. V. Prafulchandra’s distinctive score, the lyrics by Savri Verma weave together love, longing and unnamed unease. The song presents Sayi Tamhankar moving through an uncanny inner world: every glance and movement conceals something unsaid. Meanwhile, Subodh Bhave appears to be following the trail of a complex puzzle. Thus the track functions not just as a romantic piece but as a crucial bridge that ties the film’s mystery to its emotional struggle. Every frame and every note gently draws the audience deeper into that enigmatic realm.
Director Sid Vinchurkar says, “Every song in the film is closely tied to the narrative, and ‘Supernova’ is the most special among them. It doesn’t pause the story; it reveals what’s happening inside the characters — how deep their feelings run and which turn their relationships are taking. The trailer showed a hint of mystery; ‘Supernova’ is the voice of the pulsating emotions behind that mystery. I want audiences not just to watch this song, but to experience its calm, its restlessness, and its explosion of love.”
Composer A. V. Prafulchandra adds, “‘Supernova’ is as unique in name as it is in musical journey. We didn’t want the familiar tones of a traditional love song. When love transforms someone from within — unsettling them while also giving new energy — we tried to find the sound of that feeling. So the song carries quiet, heartbeat and an unnamed mystery. As the story unfolds, the song’s meaning will deepen for viewers.”
Following the trailer, “Supernova” gives Bol Bol Rani’s mysterious world a tender, melodic dimension and raises anticipation for how the film’s secrets will be revealed on screen. Produced by New Zealand Motion Pictures Limited, Bol Bol Rani is produced by Apoorva Motivile Sahai and Sid Vinchurkar, with co-producers Yash Modi, Shabbir Sabuwala, Rachna Vora, Tapan Vichare, Yash Ram Shahani and Ayush Kruplani.
Starring Sayi Tamhankar, Subodh Bhave, Chinmay Mandlekar and Sambhaji Sasane, Bol Bol Rani — a film full of mystery, thrill and suspense — releases on 17 July.
