Corona virus pandemic stopped the entire world, including the entertainment industries across globe. In india too all the theatres were closed for more than six months. International Film Festival schedules were affected badly and all the festival bodies decided to hold film festivals virtually. While we wait for our new normal and practice social distancing, virtual film festivals make it worth their while. One of the International Film Festivals which came into it’s own in it’s first year itself last year is The Filmy Monks International Film Festival. They too had to opt for virtual festival this year, due to corona pandemic, which has already stared from November 1st, ‘20.
(TFMIFF) The Filmy Monks International Film Festival 2020 is first of it’s kind online film festival in India, It features Award Winning Films curated from around the world on their Digital streaming platform www.ONTFM.com. The esteemed jury is presided by Shri Manoj Bajpayee along with the illustrious jury comprising of Writer Director Tariq Siddiqui, Marrakech International Film Festival curator Anne Doshi, Radio Nasha RJ Divya Solgama, and Distributor/Exhibitor Girish Wankhede. With a slogan ‘If It’s Good, It’s ON TFM’ The Filmy Monks is a new age digital content enterprise promoting best content worldwide. It focuses to create and promote good content for global audiences.with their wide network across the globe with broadcasters, OTT platforms etc they explore to monetise Indian content worldwide. TFMIFF 2020 is curated by the Mumbai based Festival Director Prachee Soman and Ron Roy Nag to promote Independent Film makers and their Films through their digital platform www.ontfm.com.
Through November 2020, they will be showcasing over 180 handpicked International films from 25 countries including Shorts, Feature Films, Documentaries et al, They aim to have something for everybody. Prachee Soman says, ‘We are honored to have Manoj Bajpayee as the Head of the Jury and we are elated to have the winning film selected by him’. ONTFM is an independent OTT platform which plays the selected films, arming Film makers in this digital space fight with a platform for them to connect with their audiences.
