Sajjad Delafrooz love for football is well documented. Known for his infectious smile and impeccable acting skills, the Bollywood heartthrob has been a massive fan of football ever since he was a kid. But did you know? Sajjad played football with legendary cricketer MS Dhoni. For the unversed, both Sajjad and Dhoni have been an integral part of the All-Stars Football Club.
The Mumbai-based All Stars Football Club conducts friendly matches between celebrities to generate funds for charity. In one of the games at the All-Stars Football Club in Mumbai, Bollywood heartthrob Sajjad played against Dhoni in a practice game of football. Recalling this incident, Sajjad says, “I have loved playing football ever since I was a kid. Infact, Being a 90s kid, I have grown up knowing football through Diego Armando Maradona”
The actor continues, “It was an unexpected meet, I often play football on Sunday and this time, I got to play with MS Dhoni. He was the forward and I was defending, and it was one of the best times I have had on the ground. Plus, when you get a compliment for your work from the man you respect for his outstanding work, it’s very humbling. To know that he saw my movie Tiger Zinda Hai and he told me that I was good and that it’s not easy to stand out in front of a star like Salman Khan. It’s something I will always remember”
Sajjad further adds, “Well, the world knows him as a great cricketer, but you should see him playing football…he is equally good at it”
