#NiveditaBasu, senior VP at #AtrangiiGroup, says it’s a choice for somebody, who works behind the camera, to become a public figure or not. And she believes it’s an advantage for her, as she is able to maintain a balance between her personal and professional lives.

She said, “Someone who works behind the scenes is not a public figure, but being in my position, I can make the choice of when I want to be spotted and when I want to speak up.”

“Also, I think somebody who is behind the camera doesn’t need much strike to balance, and anyway, I am a low profile person. I am in a comfortable space. I keep my personal life away from the media eye,” she added.

She also credits the publicist or PR for helping her filter between what to share and what not to. She also stressed that once someone becomes popular, people want to know even the tiniest detail about them.

“The moment you become popular or are in the public eye, they want to know every bit of detail about you. And social media made it more accessible to everyone. But you still don’t know 90% of what the actors are going through. You just know 10% of it because the media gets to know since they intrude,” she said.

She also spoke about her struggle and said that she was lucky to have worked with Ekta Kapoor in the initial days of her career. She also thanked her for supporting her career when she began.

“A lot of people tell me how lucky I was to be in Balaji. And I believe that when I joined Balaji, it wasn’t The Balaji, in fact, I was lucky to work with Ekta. I am lucky I kept my patience, kept my drive, and grew there. Ekta gave me that background. I think everything has its pros and cons. If today people know me as a brand, it’s because of Ekta, and I don’t regret any bit of it. And I managed to do that in Atrangii as well. People want to become a name, a brand,” she said.

Any advice to newcomers? “I think the struggle, hardships are ignorant. Post-covid, pre-covid, and how people have gone through so much. Dealing with a parallel life, having good friends is also so important because stress gets to you. You have to constantly keep working. I usually share a lot of positive thoughts on Instagram because I believe that what might inspire me might also inspire 2% of my followers. It’s always a constant process of learning,” she said.

“Firstly, never give up. I have seen a lot of kids nowadays be very excited and tired the next few minutes, with the need to get everything at the earliest. Patience and perseverance are a must,” Nivedita concluded.
