On Winning National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor, Sanjay Mishra Says, “I am deeply grateful for this recognition”!
For over three decades, Sanjay Mishra has carved a unique place in Indian cinema with performances that effortlessly move between humour, vulnerability, and quiet intensity. Celebrated as one of the country’s most talented actors, he has consistently brought authenticity and depth to every role. His remarkable body of work has earned him one of the highest recognitions, with him winning the 72nd National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for his powerful portrayal of Bhaskar Sinha in ‘Bhakshak’.
Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and directed by Pulkit, ‘Bhakshak’ was widely celebrated for its fearless storytelling and nuanced exploration of a deeply relevant social issue. Sanjay Mishra’s restrained yet powerful performance brought remarkable depth and empathy to Bhaskar, making him one of the film’s most memorable characters.
Expressing his gratitude, Sanjay Mishra said, “As an actor, all you really hope for is to keep getting good stories and meaningful characters to play. And when that journey is recognised with an honour as prestigious as the National Film Awards, there can be no greater feeling for an actor. I am deeply grateful for this recognition. Bhakshak is a very important film, and I would like to sincerely thank Pulkit, Red Chillies Entertainment & Netflix for bringing this story to audiences with such honesty and courage. This recognition belongs to the entire team of Bhakshak.”
The honour also marks another milestone in the creative partnership between Netflix and Red Chillies Entertainment, whose collaboration continues to champion bold, thought-provoking stories that resonate with audiences. Following the success of ‘Bhakshak’, Sanjay Mishra also reunited with director Pulkit for the recently released film, ‘Kartavya’, under the same partnership.
