Written in 1912, #RabindranathTagore’s moving play, ‘#DaakGhar’ can be savoured as a teleplay on the small screen this January. Set in rural Bengal, it introduces us to a young orphan Amal who because of a terminal illness is confined to a small room in his uncle’s home. His sole connection with the outside world is a window. His imagination is however unfettered and vibrant and he longs to lead a normal life. When he learns that the King is opening a new post office nearby, he begins to dream of becoming a postmaster and meeting him. Will his dream come true?
