On 30th Mar, 2018, one of the most awaited Telugu films, Rangasthalam hit the theatres. Directed by Sukumar the movie stars Samantha Akkineni and Ram Charan for the first time. Ever since its release the film has been making waves at the Box – Office turnstiles. On day one, the film raked in a whopping Rs 46 crores at worldwide market. And four days later, the film entered the 100 crores club! This is the sixth fastest South Indian film to cross Rs 100 crores mark after Baahubali 2, Kabali, Baahubali 1, Enthiran, Mersal and Lingaa! The movie is on a roll and how! It also holds the record of the highest opening for a Telugu film at the Chennai Box – Office turnstiles. It is also part of the top 10 highest grossing Telugu films in US. The movie has been receiving glowing reviews on the social media platforms too. Rana Daggubati and Jr NTR have specially taken to Twitter to praise the film. Rangasthalam is Samantha Akkineni and Ram Charan’s first ever release of 2018. Besides Rangasthalam is Samantha Akkineni’s eighth 100 crores film and Ram Charan’s biggest opening film till date. The film is a rural love story set in a village in the 80’s. It revolves around Chitti Babu, a sound engineer and his lady love Rama Lakshmi.
