One of the most anticipated films in Indian cinema, Excel Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios’ Mirzapur: The Movie is just two days away from its release, and excitement among fans is at an all-time peak. Marking the much-awaited theatrical transition of India’s biggest OTT franchise, the film brings the iconic, high-stakes world of Mirzapur to the big screen for the first time.

Now, the crime drama has started setting records ahead of its grand debut, driven by phenomenal advance bookings across the country.

Mirzapur: The Movie opened advance bookings on Monday, August 31, 2026, and recorded impressive pre-sales by selling 26,398 tickets within a single day. The opening day advance gross stands at ₹83.67 lakh, with figures shooting up to ₹1.9 crore when including blocked seats. Trade projections indicate that the film is well on track to surpass 1 lakh ticket sales before Thursday night.

With this momentum, industry analysts project a strong potential for Mirzapur: The Movie to target the ₹25 crore mark, with a ₹20 crore-plus opening day firmly in sight. Such a launch confirms that the franchise’s big-screen transition is poised to be a box-office success right from Day 1.
