Following the release of the upbeat Spider-Man anthem by Sony Pictures Entertainment India, the makers have teamed up with Banjaare and Sony Music India to deliver a deeply emotional track. Created and sung by the indie duo Banjaare (known for Bairan), the song Barsaat reflects Peter Parker’s inner turmoil as he faces the painful reality of MJ moving forward without any memory of him. As teased in the trailers, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will explore not just his superhero action, but also his poignant journey of coming to terms with MJ forgetting their past.
Banjaare members Sumit and Anuj, both lifelong Spider-Man fans, shared that Barsaat felt like the perfect tribute to the beloved superhero. “Barsaat is incredibly close to our hearts. We wrote it during a phase when we were navigating our own heartbreak and personal struggles. Every song we create carries a story, and love has always been at the core of our music. Barsaat came to life naturally as we were simply jamming together one monsoon evening, which is how it found its name. When we watched the trailer of Spider-Man: Brand New Day and saw Peter Parker trying to come to terms with the love of his life no longer remembering him, we instantly found echoes of Barsaat in his journey. We are very happy to see that Haryanvi music is not just local and that with this collaboration, it is making global waves,” the duo shared.
They also spoke about the lasting impact Spider-Man’s music has had on them. “Right from Spider-Man: Homecoming, the music of the film has stood out for us. We remember breaking down the background score after watching the film back in 2017. While Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is our favourite superhero, Michael Giacchino is our favourite musical superhero in the franchise,” they added.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to release on 30th July, in India. The film will release in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
