Sun Pictures Releases High-Octane ‘DC’ Trailer Featuring Lokesh Kanagaraj; Dharma Productions Joins to Spearhead North Indian Distribution!
Sun Pictures has unveiled the action-packed trailer of DC, offering audiences their most immersive look yet into a world ruled by crime, passion, and survival. Headlined by celebrated filmmaker #LokeshKanagaraj in his much-awaited acting debut alongside #WamiqaGabbi, the Tamil romantic action thriller is set to hit theaters worldwide on August 7, 2026. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film will reach audiences across the Hindi-speaking markets (HSM) in North India via Dharma Productions.
Sun Pictures – the banner behind blockbuster films such as Jailer, Beast, Annaatthe and Sarkar, continues its legacy of backing ambitious, large-scale entertainers with DC. Bringing together acclaimed filmmaker Arun Matheswaran, celebrated storyteller Lokesh Kanagaraj in his first lead role, and Wamiqa Gabbi, the film reflects Sun Pictures’ commitment to delivering compelling cinematic experiences for audiences across India.
Helmed by Arun Matheswaran, whose distinctive storytelling in films like Rocky, Saani Kaayidham and Captain Miller has earned widespread acclaim, DC marks one of his most anticipated directorial ventures. Blending intense emotion with larger-than-life action, the film places a tragic love story at the heart of a gripping gangster saga. While the teaser offered a glimpse into its gritty world, the newly released trailer expands its scale with striking visuals, emotionally charged moments and adrenaline-fuelled action sequences.
DC marks a significant milestone for Lokesh Kanagaraj as he takes on his first lead acting role. The visionary behind blockbuster films like Coolie, Maanagaram, Kaithi, Master, Vikram and Leo, Lokesh has established himself as one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated filmmakers. With DC, audiences will witness a new side as he steps into the role of Devadas, a man whose violent past leaves him hunted by the law.
Wamiqa Gabbi plays Chandra, whose own journey takes an unexpected turn as fate brings the two together. As danger closes in from every direction, their lives become deeply intertwined, giving rise to a powerful relationship tested by betrayal, sacrifice and relentless pursuit.
Bringing the film’s world to life is Arun Matheswaran’s signature cinematic style, where every frame balances raw intensity with visual flair. The trailer promises a film that is as emotionally compelling as it is action-driven.
Adding another dimension to the experience is Anirudh Ravichander’s electrifying score, featuring an expansive soundtrack of 15 tracks crafted for the film. The film also features Sanjana Krishnamoorthy in a pivotal role as Parvathi. DC has an additional screenplay by Arun Ranjan, with dialogues by Arun Matheswaran and Franklin Jacob. The film’s cinematography is by Mukesh G, while editing is handled by G. K. Prasanna.
