Vidyut Jammwal Stuns Fans by Holding His Breath for 15 Minutes at Street Fighter Showcase
Vidyut Jammwal left audiences completely mesmerised after holding his breath for 15 minutes during a promotional #StreetFighter event in Mumbai. The action star is gearing up for his Hollywood debut as Dhalsim in the upcoming cinematic adaptation, stepping into the shoes of the iconic fighter whose strengths draw heavily from Yoga and the ancient Indian martial art of Kalaripayattu.
At the special event, Vidyut not only opened up about playing the character but also gave everyone a look at why he was the best choice to play the yogi character. The actor meditated on stage with cosplayers dressed as Dhalsims for straight 15 minutes, giving the world a look at his yogic superpower.
After he completed his silent meditation, Vidyut revealed he used a special technique of Patanjali Yoga Sutra, which helped him not only hold his breath for 15 minutes but also achieve greater milestones in life. He revealed he also teaches this technique to youngsters. The idea is to meditate, to understand that things take time to reach fruition but if you keep at it, you will achieve your goal.
“Main apni younger generation ko ek baat bolna chata hu, ruk jao thoda sa. “How do you get it?” I don’t know how I got it, because I stood still. Hum dekh rahe sab log bhag rahe hai, yeh karna hai, voh karna hai, yeh karna hai, voh karna hai, kuch nahi karna hai; ek baar tham jao, ek baar ruk jao. That skill will really really take you very far. This is what I can tell you, thank you for witnessing this,” he told the young generation.
A Paramount Pictures release, Street Fighter will be released on 16 October 2026 across India in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
