‘3 Idiots’ fame Omi Vaidya forays into direction with, ‘Aaichya Gavat Marathi Bol’!
Omi Vaidya came into limelight with Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘3Idiots’. His American roots and broken Hindi was one of the highlights of the movie. After exploring acting in other films Omi is now foraying into direction with a Marathi film ‘Aaichya Gavat Marathi Bol’. The trailer and music launch of the film was recently held in Mumbai in the presence of cast and crew.
Omi Vaidya’s language barriers will be the highlight of the film. Despite being Maharashtrian, he is not fluent in Marathi, because he is born and brought up in USA. His Marathi speaking with an American accent and limited vocabulary will be the core subject of the movie, which can be termed as ‘Minglish’. The story revolves around an American Marathi guy coming from abroad to find a bride for himself and to learn his mother tounge fluently.
The songs of the movie ‘Aaichya Gavat Marathi Bol’ are produced by Video Palace while the music and background score is by Avinash Vishwanath. Vaibhav Joshi has penned the catchy lyrics of the title song. The songs are sung by Swapnil Bandodkar, Vishwajit Joshi, Manish Rajgire, Rohit Raut and Rishikesh Ranade. Omi Vaidya and Amrita Hardikar has written the story, screenplay and dialogues of the film. The cinematography is by Yogesh Koli and the editor is by Mayur Hardas and Omi Vaidya. Omi Vaidya is playing the dual role of director and actor in his first Marathi film. Omi Vaidya, Sanskriti Balgude, Partha Bhalerao, Vidyadhar Joshi, Ila Bhate, Kishori Shahane, Uday Tikekar, Abhishek Deshmukh, Supriya Vinod, Neha Kulkarni, Omkar Thatte, Dhruv Datar, Saili Rajadhyaksha and Sudhir Joglekar are in the lead and important roles.
The film is produced by Ahmed Lucan, Dr. Jaldeep Dalut, Pete Tormey, Nandini Minoche, Samia Ashraf, Dr. Puneet Chandak, Dr. Sumul Rawal, Monty and Tanu Pandey, Santosh Govindaraju, Martheswaran Solamuthu, Mike Kasin, Jasleen Ahluwalia, Rajan Vasudevan, Rajeev and Sheetal Shah, Sanjay Sehgal, Shaheen Gandhi, Steven Moreland, Supratim Dey and Uday Kumar.
‘Aaichya Gavat Marathi Bol’ is releasing on January 19.
