Following the massive wave of anticipation surrounding his upcoming role in the Kannada cinematic venture Toxic, versatile actor Akshay Oberoi is reportedly gearing up to headline another large-scale South Indian production. Industry insiders reveal that Oberoi has officially signed on for an ambitious, high-budget pan-India fantasy action drama, with principal photography locked to commence this coming September.
While an official announcement is expected soon from the makers, sources suggest that the project is being mounted on a significant scale and will feature an ensemble cast from multiple film industries. The film is reportedly being planned as a multilingual release, catering to audiences across India.
The development comes shortly after Akshay’s first look from Toxic generated considerable attention online. The film, which marks his Kannada cinema debut, introduced him to a wider audience in the South and reportedly opened doors to several opportunities across regional industries.
According to a source close to the development, Akshay has been receiving multiple offers from South filmmakers ever since his association with Toxic became public.
“The response to Akshay’s look and casting in Toxic was noticed by many filmmakers. Over the past few months, he has heard several scripts, but one particular project stood out.
