Ahmed Khan Reunites With Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon After 22 Years!

As Welcome To The Jungle gears up for its release, one of the film’s biggest highlights is set to spark a wave of nostalgia among audiences, the much-awaited reunion of Akshay Kumar and #RaveenaTandon. The iconic on-screen duo will share screen space for the first time in 22 years, marking a significant moment for fans who have cherished their memorable collaborations over the years.

The reunion has been made possible by director Ahmed Khan, whose long-standing friendship with both actors played a key role in bringing them together for the film.

Speaking about the casting decision, Khan shared with mid-day, “Both Raveena and Akshay have been such good friends of mine. We have known each other for over 30 years and because we go back so long, we know what has happened in each other’s lives.”

Addressing the excitement surrounding the duo’s return to the big screen,Director Ahmed Khan described the move as a gesture for audiences who have long wanted to see them together again. He said, “People will want to see Raveena and Akshay together, so why not do fan service?”. He further revealed that Akshay had encouraged him to cast the actors best suited for their respective roles.

According to him, Raveena was completely at ease upon learning that Akshay was already a part of the project. Recalling their conversation, he said, “She said, So what? We are all actors and grown up. We are all friends and we will have a blast on the sets.”

Recalling one of the film’s memorable moments on set, Ahmed Khan revealed, “There is a sequence of Akshay and Raveena dancing together. The whole set clapped. Suniel Shetty, who also starred in Mohra, came in and said, ‘Arre, mere Mohra ki jodi aa gayi’.”

Reflecting on the camaraderie between the actors during filming, Ahmed Khan said, “It’s a small industry and everybody grows over their past and moves on. Off set, Raveena and Akshay were friends only – joking, having fun, and talking about their kids. We reminisced about the past and work from earlier movies”

While Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon are not paired romantically in Welcome To The Jungle, they will be seen sharing several scenes, along with a special song sequence choreographed by Rahul Shetty and Prince Gupta. Their reunion carries added significance considering the duo’s enduring popularity following iconic films such as Mohra (1994), which featured chartbusters including Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast and Tip Tip Barsa Paani.

With Welcome to the Jungle, director Ahmed Khan is making sure audiences get a complete package of fun and entertainment. The family entertainer releases in cinemas on 26th June 2026.
