Nothing Novel!
Narsinh Panthula who teaches maths to students appearing from IIT-JEE exams developed liking for films and was inspired by some foreign films including films from Iran. Angai Geet is set on the backdrop of rural Maharashtra and this social subject dwells on the repercussions of Aids that has on one individual and the rest of the society and the lack of knowledge in the common man about this dreaded disease.

What Works
Siddhesh (Anurag Telang) returns to his village after a long time after becoming a doctor to serve the villagers with a lot of care. He attributes his present position to a kind hearted NGO worker Nivedita (Pratiksha Sable) who had rescued Siddhesh when the entire village had ostracized his family because his mother Anusuya (Neeta Tipnis Donde) had contracted Aids due to a quack but the villagers push her out

What Doesn’t Work
Though the subject of Nivedita, who looks after the hapless mother’s son and raises him like her own son has nothing by way of novelty, the direction is good. The music is just about okay. Acting wise it is Pratiksha Sable’s show all the way. She excels in every scene. Neeta Tipnis Donde is good. Anurag Telang has good prospects. Abhay Khadapkar and Raj Bane excel.

VERDICT
Overall it is a good film with a good message but it is debatable whether it would do steady business.
