One of the most anticipated cinematic events of the year, Excel Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios’ Mirzapur: The Movie, has finally arrived in theatres nationwide today. Marking the historic theatrical transition of India’s biggest OTT franchise, the film brings the iconic and widely celebrated world of Mirzapur to the big screen for the very first time on an unprecedented scale.

Mirzapur: The Movie has stormed into the Top 5 advance booking records of 2026! Competing against the biggest tentpole releases of the year, the feature adaptation surpassed major blockbusters like Awarapan 2 and Cocktail 2 in opening day advance ticket sales. No streaming-to-theatre crossover in Indian cinema history has ever achieved pre-sales at this monumental magnitude.

According to official Day 1 advance booking gross data (excluding block seats), Mirzapur: The Movie locked in a staggering ₹9.19 Crore from 3,28,127 tickets sold. In comparison, Awarapan 2 closed its opening advance at ₹8.57 Crore (2,85,802 tickets), while Cocktail 2 stood at ₹5.57 Crore (1,61,693 tickets).

With this massive surge, Mirzapur: The Movie officially secures the No. 3 position in 2026’s highest opening advance booking charts, trailing only Dhurandhar 2 (No. 1) and Border 2 (No. 2).
