Survival Horror At Its Peak: Austin Abrams Navigates A Rain Of Exploding Bodies In Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil!
Directed by Zach Cregger, Resident Evil is set to release in Indian cinemas on 18th September in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
Director Zach Cregger treated fans to an intense new clip from the highly anticipated live-action Resident Evil film during Sony’s September State of Play broadcast. Slated to hit cinemas on September 18, the newly dropped clip showcases lead actor Austin Abrams (playing Bryan) sprinting through the deserted, nightmarish streets of Raccoon City.
Embracing the pure survival-horror roots of the classic video game franchise, the teaser sees Bryan desperately holding onto a critical medical kit while navigating an eerily silent street—only to be ambushed by infected citizens raining down from surrounding rooftops in a visceral, edge-of-your-seat sequence.

Cregger, celebrated for directing modern horror hits like Barbarian and Weapons, is placing a uncompromising focus on raw atmospheric horror and suspense. Following an exclusive screening of the film’s opening 30 minutes earlier this week, early viewers and critics praised the footage for seamlessly replicating the sheer tension and immersion of playing a high-stakes survival horror game.
Produced by Columbia Pictures and Constantin Film in association with TriStar Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment India will release Resident Evil exclusively in theatres on September 18, 2026, across English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.
